| pardon my newbie-ness. i am researching mindstorms, as i am getting myself a set for xmas. now i am confused about the fact everyone seems to want RIS with the v 1.0 RCX. is this true? i guess i am just caught up in the details and new (to me) (...) | Hello, I am starting to look at my mindstorm again. It is version 1.5 and I have prev. used NQC and RcxCC. What should I use now? How about the new sdk 2.0? Can I use that one? | I believe that i have a dead rcx, or a problem w/ the ir transmitter (doubtfull). Do this: Monitor a voltage, when the monitored voltage does something, switch a motor output. 1) What would you have to do to monitor a voltage (safely)? Connect an input sensor to your (...) | Dan, I had the same problem with a newly purchased RCX - turned out to be the tower. I rang Lego support, they did some trouble-shooting and finally told me to take it back and get a replacement. I managed to change the whole set, so I can't say for (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jun-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| First off, I'd like to say that I had ZERO problems installing, building, and testing BrickOS on my PC. That's even with the BrickOS name change release and the pre-built Hitachi tools. | Help! I installed the RCX 1.5 software on my WinXP machine. I got no errors during setup, but when I tried to run it I got an error saying it needs 3MB of virtual memory. Running with Win95 compatability settings didn't help. I looked around on the (...) (19 years ago, 3-Dec-07, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
