| Does the Lego USB IR tower, when set to long range, sometimes draw more than the 500mA allowed? Or do laptops generally not reliably supply 500mA? Or are we facing some deeper analog issue here, like not ramping up to 500mA from less mA fast enough (...) (22 years ago, 12-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| The GUI version is 2.1.0. The pbForth version (COLD) is 2.1.2. I am using the USB tower with RIS 2.0. Once the RCX stops responding, if I pull out a battery and re-upload the firmware, the RCX will respond again to the same GUI session. In other (...) | After I have done trouble-shooting for hours on my toshiba-laptop, the point of failure seems to be between the ir tower & the rcx...: - the ir tower did insteed install properly... | I am trying to download the firmware to the ris 1.0 & 2.0 using the usb tower but it won't finish, the rcx only counts to 200-300 & is different all the time. then it says the tower is disconnected, when i didn't even touch it.
