| | IR communications related questions
| I've been working with LegOS for a while but am quite frustrated. I have been unable to get lnp working and am thus unable to to communicate with the host. It is all overkill for me since I merely want to capture some simple data. I am switching (...) (24 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

| | Another way to avoid Float
| For the navigation of my robot, I do not plan to use float or trig function. I will use long integer (32bits). the high 16 bit are the true integer value. the low 16 bits are 1/65535 value. let say 1 = 0x00010000 2 = 0x00020000 2.5 = 0x00028000 2.25 (...) | | Suspected LNP integrity message overflow
| Hello Has anybody encountered problems using the LNP integrity API, when many frames/s are received? We are working with a image recognition system on a Linux machine that computes the position of robots and sends an integrity packet of 18bytes (...) | | Re: roboball experience?
| (...) I can't comment on the sensors, but I do have experience w/the balls. The balls are of good quality, well-balanced, and they are a brilliant IR source. (Standard light sensors see them just fine.) However, battery life is quite short (approx. (...) (20 years ago, 23-Mar-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx, lugnet.robotics.rcx.robolab)

| | IR Tower - Laptop Comms
| Maybe not exactly Lego, but..... Has anyone any thoughts about using the IR Tower to communicate with a Laptop's built in IR transceiver? Maybe set it up using Direct Cable Connection?? If I should ask this elsewhere, please put me straight :) (25 years ago, 4-Apr-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | Re: how detect other RCX robots with light sensors?
| Assuming both RCXs are facing each other, this can be done by using the IR transmitter of the RCX on the detected robot, and a forward pointing light sensor on the detecting robot. Set one robot (the detected robot) to send out constant IR messages. (...) (24 years ago, 15-Apr-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
