| Hi there, I use legOS 0.2.4 under Linux and tried (after a few weeks) to download the firmware and get always the follwing error: firmdl3/firmdl: transfer data failed Batteries are brand new, tower was set to short and long dist. nothing helped ... | | Power down time
| In The administrator section you can set the power down time - the time that the RCX will stay on, unattended. The range is 0-255 with 0 meaning always on, and the rest in minutes. No matter what time I choose, I can't make this work all the time. (...) (19 years ago, 16-Feb-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.robolab)

| | Re: Vision Command and RCX
| (...) You don't need to copy this back from the RCX ! In your vision command directory is the following file \script\myprog.txt. This file is downloaded to slot 5 when you start the software in your VC program. (...) There a are two ways to do this (...) (24 years ago, 18-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | Re: Programming the RCX using Lego's RCX Software
| (...) In the GUI thing, I think so. The actual firmware ticks every 0.01 seconds though, but you can't really tell where between ticks you are. (...) They may, but probably not. The monitoring code is a pretty constant drain unless the user switches (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | Programming the RCX using Lego's RCX Software
| I am relatively new to the RIS, the RCX, and the RCX software. Just like many of you, I discovered pretty quickly that the RCX software is not intuitive to someone who has done programming before. What I can visualize doing in C, I struggle to (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | Controlling RoboSapien & family from RCX
| Hi, It appears to be straight-forward to control the WowWee robots from RCX and generate their IR commands by controlling the TxD output pin of the RCX's processor. More info, small webcam video, and simple example source: (URL) opens up for a lot (...) (19 years ago, 7-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

| | Re: color sensor
| (...) Happy Christmas to you too! ... and yes, I have a bench prototype running using that TAOS chip. As per my previous attempts at a color sensor however, it is proving very difficult to make the sensor range and orientation independent. JB (19 years ago, 25-Dec-05, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | Re: Using NQC with iBook
| Okay, but don't I have to buy a second adapter so that the IR cable can fit in the Keyspan PDA adapter? Or like cut up and change positions of the IR-cable inputs? Or do I just have to buy an adapter, connect it, connect the IR tower, download NQC (...) (24 years ago, 28-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

| | Re: avoid messaging
