In The administrator section you can set the power down time - the time that the RCX will stay on, unattended. The range is 0-255 with 0 meaning always on, and the rest in minutes. Since the NXT does not have IR capability, it will not be communicate with the RCX brick. If there is no such plan from LEGO to build in the new NXT such capability, I am afraid they are going to put RCX brick in an obsolete track!? O, no! ---...--- (...) Okay, but don't I have to buy a second adapter so that the IR cable can fit in the Keyspan PDA adapter? Or like cut up and change positions of the IR-cable inputs? The RCX can not recieve a command while it's transmitting - so if you saturate the transmitter with things to do, it will not be able to "look" for any (...) For power supply I’m thinking of using one of the outputs on the RCX and for communication I’ll use the IR port(2400-baud), similar to Mindsensors´s RCX to (...) I've also just replaced the IRED I replaced a few hours ago in my RCX :-( This time, I'm putting a limiting resistor between the IREDs in the RCX to keep the current within limits. (...) I tried adding -v & > output.txt but it didn't work. All it did was light up the towers LED for a bit then quit back to the command line.
