| | Windows NT Success Story!
| I'm pleased to announce that the NT boxes in our computer science lab has LegOS installed and running under Cygwin! I'd like to share this success story in the hope that it might help those who are still battling the Redmond Behemoth. In our lab we (...) (25 years ago, 8-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

| | LNPd with USB Tower - success?
| Hi, I'm new here. My name is Pierluigi and I am a student at the Turin Polytechnic ((URL) ). I've used BrickOS with LNPd for a summer project, and I've recently bought the Robotics Invention System 2.0, that comes with a USB IR Tower. This tower (...) | No matter how hard I try - or how many different "this is how to do legOS under Win32" web sites I visit - I cannot get legOS and its associated cross-compiler to build. The stuff from brickOS dies during the make process because of "missing" (...) (22 years ago, 2-Oct-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | RIS 1.0 -> 1.5 -> 2.0 upgrade questions
| I have a Mindstorms 1.0 set. When the 1.5 upgrade came out, I purchased it. I see that the 2.0 upgrade is out. A couple of quick questions: (1) Is the upgrade just a CD-ROM, or are there any pieces, users' guide, or Constructopedia like there was in (...) (22 years ago, 5-Nov-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | Win98 cygwin USB installation
| Hello, I recently bought the LEGO mindstorms Invention System kit and I am trying to get brickOS v0.2.6 working on my PC (Win98). I also have the USB tower. So far, I have found 4 bugs in the current script. I was able to fix 3 them or work around (...) (22 years ago, 13-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

| | Re: Firmware download troubles
| Matt, I discovered that the IR LED's and detector on my serial tower was located higher than I expected and pointed upward somewhat. I was able to get better transfers when the tower was leaning forward (pointing downward so to speak). Otherwise, I (...) (22 years ago, 9-Dec-02, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | IRPD sensors and LegOS (long)
| Well, after much frustration and a great deal of help from the very wise Rossz, I was finally able to get up and running w/ DJGPP and LegOS 0.2.4 The first thing I did was write a program to use with Pete Sevcik's IRPD proximity detectors that he (...) | Well, I worked on it a bit and added two routines: TurnTo(int New_Direction) => Figures the quickest way to turn from the current Direction to the new one. Retrace(int N) => Retraces the last N number of legs of it's journey. Change the #define LEGS (...) (24 years ago, 30-Aug-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

| | desperate: USB tower and XP
| Hi, I'm trying to get my USB tower to work with XP. So far I had no luck. I followed the instructions on www.mindstroms.com but it doesn't work. Windows XP simply sits there and reports the USB tower as an "unknown device". Doesn't matter if I (...) (22 years ago, 23-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| (...) Disclaimer: I didn't try ANYTHING of this... According to Kekoa's Internals, the ROM routine 0x3250 (0x3266) with parameter 0x1770 sets the IR range to long (short). So you need to do something like: push 0x1770 jsr 0x3250 pop ; Stack should (...) (24 years ago, 27-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

| Agreed, LegOS is the way to go. Here is a LegOS program I wrote for a robot that keeps track of its heading in one of 8, increments (45 degrees intervals, numbered 0 to 7 heading clockwise). It keeps track of the last 10 segments in it's travels (...) (24 years ago, 21-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
