Hi,
I'm trying to get my USB tower to work with XP. So far I had no luck. I
followed the instructions on www.mindstroms.com but it doesn't work. Windows
XP simply sits there and reports the USB tower as an "unknown device".
Doesn't matter if I install the driver, delete the "unknown" driver,
reinstall and reconnect the tower. It simply doesnt' work. I also installed
the SDK 2.0 but still, the tower just won't work. I tried it in Win98 on the
same computer and it's working. So I'm sure the USB hardware is fine (both
the Lego tower and the BIOS setting). I also have a joypad and a printer
connected to USB and both work fine in XP, too. I'm desperately trying to
get it working because I want to PLAY. I also tried the Lego Camera and it
works fine in XP. It's just this IR tower that gives me a headache. If you
have any idea or any suggestions please let me know. Thank you very much.

| I doubt that this is the cause of your problems, but the first XP version had very flimsy drivers for some motherboards USB host controllers. Maybe a Windows Update or similar might help ? Philo www.philohome.com (...) (21 years ago, 23-Feb-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
