| | Re: Running IR in the background
|
| (...) Huge coincidence that your message should be the first I see after not having read the newsgroup for almost a year. No, as far as I can remember I never got an answer. I am using mindstorms for my final project after not having a chance to (...) (24 years ago, 27-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

| (...) Commentary below. (...) I must have missed this one the first time around. lnp_logical_write() will block, but it should only block the thread it's called from. Put your send-zero loop in a separate thread and I think you should be set. (24 years ago, 27-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

| | Re: XCam2 as replace for Vision Command?
|
| Pinnacle Systems has a USB video capture device which allows one to capture the analog video signal. Works great with software like the Exploration Mars software, which just checks if you have a video input of some sort. Vision command, however, (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | Re: XCam2 as replace for Vision Command?
|
| There seems to be a common misconception that all cameras are equal! They are not. The kind of interface commonly found in webcams and the Lego cam are USB based digital ones which are supported by the O/S and deliver digitised images as bits maps (...) | | Re: XCam2 as replace for Vision Command?
|
| I think I didn't mention that there is an addition for XCam2 called XRay which makes XCam2 a usb webcam. My question was if it could be used. Can you select which camera you would like to use in VC software or does it only work with the LEGO cam? (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

| | Re: Obstacle detection : infrared sensor ??

The principle is simple: * Attach the light sensor in front of the brick, close to the IR tranceiver. preferably in a low position, since you want to (...) | Ok, this is called a "Slip Gear" or "Torque Gear" It is used to prevent over rotation by means of an internal clutch, the 2.5 - 5.0 NCM I belive means the range of operable force applied before the clutch disengages. Nano Centemeter of force. In (...) (24 years ago, 3-Apr-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

One thing that's different in the system I saw was that there were no LED's used (not needed...) and it would (...) (24 years ago, 29-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Now, if the 2 RCXs can "see" each other than simply use the Message statement. If not, you should take (...) (24 years ago, 26-Mar-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)
