| After I have done trouble-shooting for hours on my toshiba-laptop, the point of failure seems to be between the ir tower & the rcx...: - the ir tower did insteed install properly... | (...) BricxCC works with XP and both IR towers. The USB tower works with XP. You can get just the USB tower from Pitsco, but I do not know if you can get just the USB tower from LEGO. | I have a mac Powerbook (non-USB) running system 8.1 and using a Palm 3 serial port adapter for the IR tower. I have no fax or hotsync software loaded, nor any peripherals attached. | OS: winXP Robolab : 2.5.2 machine: Toshiba Satellite-p25... coming with 4 usb ports and a IR port. Symptom: - usb tower driver installed fine. - I even verified with device manager that the lego usb tower did indeed install properly. Robolab (...) | Hi, I'm trying to get my USB tower to work with XP. So far I had no luck. I followed the instructions on www.mindstroms.com but it doesn't work. | Hi, I only have one serial port on my PC and it is currently hooked up to an external modem (PC slots are precious to me). So, I was planning on using an USB->Serial converter. | (...) Andrew, I grabbed a ROM image awhile back using a serial tower and an RCX 1.0. I haven't tried this on a 2.0 brick, but I think the ROMware is identical in all RCX versions. My university has just upgraded 20 of the pc's used for the Lego, the previous setup worked fine and the tower was attached to just a normal USB (...)
