  Re: Updated BrickOS Command Reference

(...) Dave, This is good to see. You may have done this intentionally, but 'sleep' and 'msleep' are both listed twice. Also, under cputs and cputw, it says '(only forst 5 characters)' and should be '...first 5..' I've never been able to get the (...) (20 years ago, 2-Aug-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Re: Add motor driver to RCX

(...) Yes, I suggest making an inertia circuit for use with trains, but for cars something else might be better. In RCX float or braked modes the power H-bridge flywheel diodes will brake the motor, but in high power applications, how often is float (...) (20 years ago, 1-Aug-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Add motor driver to RCX

(...) Good idea. It will be difficult, though, to determine the differnce between braked and floating motor setting, or am I wrong? Or maybe one should measure the resistance on the RCX terminal, when no voltage is put out. I thought of invading the (...) (20 years ago, 1-Aug-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: RIS 2.0 upgrade CD? (part 3805)

(...) Noone has it listed on Bricklink right now, but there was a recent Mindstorms survey held on LEGO.com that hints at the possibility that they might be coming out with an RIS 3.0 sometime in the near future. The other alternative is to see if (...) (20 years ago, 31-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

RIS 2.0 upgrade CD? (part 3805)

I'd like to upgrade my RIS software to 2.0, but it would appear that Lego no longer sells it. (URL) says "Sorry this item is not available in this country." I called Lego shop today, and they confirmed that it is discontinued. Perhaps someone knows (...) (20 years ago, 31-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Add motor driver to RCX

(...) I'm working on a scheme to do that sort of thing. I propose to use opto-couplers with their LEDs in reverse parallel, connected to the RCX output, and their transistors driving a power H-bridge powered from a separate supply. I can't see any (...)   Updated BrickOS Command Reference

Hello, Cleaned up the LegOS 0.2.4 Command Reference that I'd written like almost 4 years ago (has it been that long?!!) at the BrickOS site so that it is now current with BrickOS 0.2.6.10. Find it here: (URL) let me know if there are any errors, (...) (20 years ago, 31-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Full IR packet networking

When I was looking over version 0.2.0, I saw that one of the features was Full IR packet networking. My question is what exactly does Full IR packet networking do. Does this capability allow individual RCX to be networked, meaning they can (...) (20 years ago, 30-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: Kernel size

Hi Andreas, (...) It is about 22cm x 12cm for the two dimensional kernel. (couldn't resist) Actually, the size of the kernel is sort of unknown until you built it. It depends on your preferences and to some degree of the compiler version you build (...) (20 years ago, 29-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Kernel size

Hi, I've got a really small question. What's the size of the LegOS Kernel which you have to load on the RCX? Andreas (20 years ago, 29-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: Problem

Trent, Make sure the following files exist in the paths listed below (within the main BrickOS folder): boot\brickos.srec util\firmdl3.exe If those do not exist, then you need to run the configuration routine and MAKE to build the firmdl3 application (...)   Re: Beginners questions

(...) Hi Glenn, I don’t have answers to your questions but think Mitchell has the right idea. I did want to post a couple of links to some coaching resources that I put together, many of them related to Robolab, that FLL coaches or teachers might (...)   Re: Problem

(...) You'd be up and running already without a hitch if you used my pre-built installers for cygwin & brickOS. Downloading the firmware using BricxCC is very simple as well. (URL) Hansen (20 years ago, 26-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Add motor driver to RCX

Have anyone tried to add an external motordriver to the RCX ports, so you can use the powerful 3Amp motors from the 8366 RC car on the RCX? (20 years ago, 26-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Problem

(...) Are you sure you typed "ln"? That should be "LN" but lowercase. It can be easy to confuse "l" with "i". ROSCO (20 years ago, 26-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Problem

Hey all, I have winXP and have installed Cygwin and all and have everything i need to install brickOS on my RCX. Althought when i try to install brickOS on my RCX i type the command into the cygwin bash shell and it returns a error. The command is: (...) (20 years ago, 26-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Beginners questions

I coached a FIRST LEGO Robotics team last year and the team members used RIS. Before the season gets underway I would like them to learn Robolab. I've been working with it for a few days now and have a few questions. I searched the news groups and (...) (20 years ago, 24-Jul-04, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.robolab, FTX)
