  Re: Current state of pbforth

(...) BricxCC is making some progress with respect to pbForth support. I've got a terminal emulator of sorts that is working. I just need to get it hooked into the rest of the application and add XModem downloading to it. By late next week it might (...) (21 years ago, 29-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

  Maths functions

I'm having trouble finding a maths header file. It's usually called "math.h". I need to do stuff like sine and cosine, and use the "abs" function to make a number positive. Does a file like this exist? Are there any plans to incorporate a maths (...) (21 years ago, 29-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  RE: Current state of pbforth

(...) Yeah, I haven't quite got around to implementing cut-and-paste... You can use Hyperterminal or any other similar teminal emulator set to 2400,n,8,1 once the firmware is loaded. Unless you have a USB port. OK, if you really need this, then I (...) (21 years ago, 29-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.pbforth)

  Re: Threads within threads

(...) Have you tried to run this code? I wonder what will happen "in real life". Actually, main will start monkey and cow as fast as possible. I think this will crash your stack after a short while. Regards, Michael (21 years ago, 29-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Threads within threads

Is it possible to use threads within threads? In the example below (with all 6 threads having different priority levels), how does the priority setting of each thread affect it being executed earlier than other threads? I mean, I assume that thread1 (...) (21 years ago, 27-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  leJOS & BricxCC news

I have BricxCC compiling and downloading leJOS programs now. The support for leJOS is integrated in much the same way as BrickOS support is. BricxCC generates a Makefile and executes it using Bash. So GNU make and bash are required for it to (...) (21 years ago, 29-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.java)

  Re: Current state of pbforth

(...) Ralph Further to my original question I've generated the appropriate words to decode the dictionary. My second question is how to print out the contents of the tcl consol windows as I dont seem able to do a cut and past from it thanks. Dave (...)   Re: USB vs Serial Tower Response Time

(...) Dick If, by chance, BricxCC (or NQC) happened to be the popular program to which you refer I'd love to hear more details about your software tests and the code you use for communicating with the RCX via the USB tower. I'm not particularly (...) (21 years ago, 22-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: USB vs Serial Tower Response Time

Dick, thanks for posting this information. I have some USB code I need to do some more work on and this should prove very useful! Mark (21 years ago, 22-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Lego Mindstorms SDK 2.5

I am unable to extract the Lego Mindstorms SDK 2.5. Inside the zip file is just a Windows executable which does not seem to be either a zip or rar self extracting archive, does anyone know where to get a copy of it in a normal archive format, or how (...)   Re: RCX convert from AA to Wall power.

Wow, I'm sure glad I have the RCX 1.0 with the power jack... I didn't even know the newer ones didn't have it until I started to visit LUGNET...It's something I couldn't live without, not to mention the battery contacts are unreliable... (...) (21 years ago, 21-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: USB vs Serial Tower Response Time

Wow, that answers a lot of questions, all but one: why is the USB's 'long range' shorter than the Serial's distance? Was my speculation of the available power true?   Re: Spybot Zones

RE: USB vs Serial Tower Response Time

It also contains many useful hints about the preamble bytes and other esoteric things about the LEGO protocol. I have an dea (...) (21 years ago, 21-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

USB vs Serial Tower Response Time

Several recent posts have mentioned significantly slower performance of the USB Tower when compared to the serial Tower. After several measurements, I've concluded that the USB Tower is "natively" only slightly slower (~20 milliseconds per message) (...) (21 years ago, 21-Aug-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
