Paul, I've snipped all of the text about how RoboLab and the Mac might not play nicely together. I have had great results with my own system at my office, and then when I did the tutorial at MIT, things failed miserably. I turned off the large (...) You could try using NQC (or MacNQC) and see if it works any better. I know in the long run you want to get Robolab working, but testing MacNQC would at least separate a Robolab-only problem from more general problems (serial port problems, cables, (...) I'm a user, not engineer, but.. you might want to try this if you haven't already. I had the same difficulty and went through all the toubleshooting methods you have. Hello, I'm teaching an RCX-based programming class using the Robolab software to a group of 19 4th,5th and 6th graders. hi martin, thanks for the good explanation, that makes the whole problem somewhat clearer to me. yesterday i fetched the egcs-1.1.2 sources, built the crosscompiler with applied interrupt-patch and attached -Dinhibit_libc at the end of CFLAGS. in (...) Hi Vlad, (...) These commands are low-level calls to ROM firmware. If you want to simulate original firmware' behaviour you mast do a little coding. i tried, and indeed CRT works much better. but, when using POWER_INIT and POWER_OFF standalone, the display remains lit, showing 4th... and when running TEST_POWER from the supplied scripts, the RCX suddenly (at the fourth step) did not want to come (...) (...) Remember to set up character and line pacing. Char pacing should be about 20 msec or so and the line space should be 100 msec. (...) Yes, they are a FAQ. PLease refer to the website for FAQ info. It sounds like you do not have the latest version of firmware. Go to the website and gran a copy of the lastest 1.1.0 pbForth.
