The Handyboard seamed to work fine for the last few days. Sudently today I got this -POWER GLITCH- message when runing the HB with just IC loaded in it. What does it mean ??? (...) How long did it work before? Have you checked the solder and socket connections of the chips in the circuit? The ones designated as "retract servos" are designed to turn 180 degrees, the rest are designed for something around 90degrees. Most can be modified to turn as far as you want (...) My Pulse Accumulator no longer works... Does anyone know how to fix it? I was using it to measure RPM, and it was working fine...the next minute it just completely stopped working... Can I just replace the HC11? Thanks.. Joeo (28 years ago, 12-Aug-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

(...) Try looking for embedded PC systems. The motherboard are sometimes roughly the size of the HB. You may have to buy controller board also to drive a hard drive or a Solid state disk. (...) You need to go into the servo.c file, and adjust the minimum and maximum frequencies the servo can handle. If you open servo.c, you'll find instructions as to how to do this. hello everyone I'm playing around with a servo on the HB. i loaded all the progs and got it to twirl, but it won't do a full 180 degrees. i'm just using the servo() command. i suppose servo(1400) is supposed to point it 0degress, but it points about (...) Seeing as my job gets progressively more MANAGEMENT than TECHNICAL these days - is it really inevitable over the years?? - this software/electronic/mechanical exercise called robotics seems a good hobby to do all those things (...) Hi, all It appears that the proposed expansion board will not have any additional input capture functions. I've run out of Input Capture lines on the Handyboard, so does anyone have a suggestion on which processor could best be slaved to the (...) (28 years ago, 8-Aug-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

(...) Did you tried to remove the resistor? I actually simply fitted the IR diode in the female header. I found that the red diode beside the header would light less if the IR diode is emitting, since those two diode are installed in parallel. The (...) Also... For Tx I use a high power IR LED with about a 5-10ohm resistor (I can't remember exactly) Because the carrier is 50% duty and the signal is not continuous, this is ok. If you use a lower powered IR LED and/or a higher resistor, you may find (...) (28 years ago, 8-Aug-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Jeff, You are right. Several things could be wrong here. First of all the precision resistor is VERY VERY important. This controls the frequency of the carrier signal. The freq is approx 1/(RC) where R = R4 and C = C6 of the the Handyboard IR Tx (...) (28 years ago, 8-Aug-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
