Also...
For Tx I use a high power IR LED with about a 5-10ohm resistor (I can't
remember exactly) Because the carrier is 50% duty and the signal is not
continuous, this is ok. If you use a lower powered IR LED and/or a higher
resistor, you may find that you will need the Tx IR LED pretty darn close to
the receiver to get it to work.
