  tracking an IR beacon

Hello all - My goal: I'm trying to determine the feasibility of tracking an IR source with my Handy Board. My initial scheme calls for using two IR detectors (the ones with all the internal filters, etc, to provide a clean 5V output upon detection (...)   Memory

Does anyone know how to increase the handyboard memory above the standard 32K? I looked at the archives, but I didn't see any solutions. -Richard (27 years ago, 4-Dec-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Smooth PWM Routines!

Hi Does anyone know where to get the pcode source for IC 3.1 ? If I can get my hands on a copy it shouldn't be too difficult to work the new PWM routines into it.... Thanks Scott (27 years ago, 4-Dec-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: Replacement for ZTX614 NPN Darlington Transistor

I just joined the list, and saw in the list archives the recent question about a replacement for the ZTX614 Darlington. On my Handy Board which just arrived from Patrick Hui, the supplier in Hong Kong, a few part substitutions had to be made, which (...) (27 years ago, 3-Dec-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Remove LCD?

Is the Handyboard supposed to work with the LCD display removed? When we try that with our Handyboard, it just beeps repeatedly. Any ideas on why that might be happening? Is it possible to modify the software so that the LCD display can be removed? (...) (27 years ago, 3-Dec-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Smooth PWM Routines!

Julian Skidmore <skidmorj@cs.man.ac.uk> has implemented and released a new algorithm for performing the pulse width modulation on the Handy Board's motors, allowing up to 100 power steps rather than just eight! This is a big, big improvement over (...) (27 years ago, 3-Dec-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  IC with other boards

Is is possible to run the freeware IC with the BotBoard II? (How?) Also, what is the difference between the RugWarrior version of IC and the Handyboard version? -- Justin Kao <jkao@bigfoot.com> <jkao@compuserve.com> (27 years ago, 1-Dec-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

(...) Alright, I have isolated the problem a little more since last time. It turns out that when I put my finger over a certain area of the solder side of the board, I can run IC perfectly well.   Re: Smoking serial/charger board...!!!

Hi. This evidence pretty conclusively points to a power-ground short on your board. Here is why: * you are fairly certain it is not the RJ11 cable (the most common cause of blown R11's). * when applying charge pwr directly to the HB's charge jack, (...)
