  IR Transmitter

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone could recommend an IR transmitter for use with the Handy Board's IR output (J7). If possible indicate manufacturer/part no. or supplier/catalog no. if possible. I was also wondering if anyone could tell me how (or (...) (27 years ago, 17-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

I had some questions regarding John Whitten's recent posting about different drive types. (...) How is the math to figure out the narrowest space a vehicle can turn around in done?   thanks

As I just hooked up my Vector 2x compass to my handyboard and it worked the first time, just like my sonar did, I just want to say, thank you all very much for all of the help everyone gives. Thanks -Jim (URL) (27 years ago, 15-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: positioning of robot

I missed the first posting, I liked the summary posted by John Whitten. Youcan take his posting one layer "up" to get at the abstractions if you want. These are: 1. Points of contact with the surface - More increases stability. 2. Drive Train (...) (27 years ago, 15-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: positioning of robot

I think the Tyco ZIG ZAG makes a great platform. It is a treaded vehicle with a center motor/wheel set that moves it sideways. I haven't complete a robot with it yet but you may want to look into it. jm (...) (27 years ago, 15-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

(...) Howdy- (...) No problem- as long as you get the relevant points across- that's what counts :) (...) Ok- that's a very good basic question.   HB sampling rates

Hello all, Does anyone know the maximum sampling rate possible on the HB for an analog input being polled in Interactive C 3.1? Thanks, Colby (27 years ago, 14-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

This subject was discussed some time ago. The discussion yeilded the following: When you put two batteries in parrallel on paper, the voltage is exactly the same.   Handyboard for sale...

Hi all, I'm offering to sell a Handyboard that I built a few months ago. When I was building my board I ordered double of all the components to get over some minimum orders.   Re: your mail

(...) Yep. You used the wrong phone cord between the HB and the serial interface board.   Re: charger board

It looks like your resistors are burned due to the short circuit between pin3 and pin4 of J10 on the charger board. I guess what you need is to replace those resistors (R11 and R12) and yellow LED, and the charger board will work again. Those (...) (27 years ago, 12-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Hello all, I was charging my HB the other day, and suddenly, the two resistors right by the yellow "charge" LED on the serial interface ckt. went up in smoke. Has this happened to anyone else? Colby (27 years ago, 12-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
