Yeah, that's wrong. phone handsets use a physically different plug,
so they're not going to be a problem b/c they don't plug in right.
The issue is half-twist vs. no-twist in the RJ11 cable. Please see

EVERYONE PLEASE TAKE NOTE: DON'T RANDOMLY PICK UP A PHONE CABLE LYING
AROUND YOUR OFFICE AND USE IT WITH YOUR HB!!!!! About a dozen people
have blown their charger board with the wrong cable!!! Don't be the
next loser of phone cable roulette!
