This subject was discussed some time ago. The discussion yeilded the
following:
When you put two batteries in parrallel on paper, the voltage is exactly
the same. In real life, the two bateries will have slightly different
voltages and one will discharge and the other will charge. Since
NiCd's have a very low internal resistance. There's a chance that there
will be alot of current involved and therefore, you may waste alot of
battery life by just having them connected in parralel. Get a large pack
or use higher energy density bateries if you want the extra life. But you
may have to sacrifice the built in charging capabilities.
