  Black + White Camera

I would like to add a B+W Camera to my robot, and send the signal over a wireless RF connection. I understand the RF part is fairly easy, with a number of solutions, including the commercially available 'Rabbit' doing a fine job. However, I have no (...)   Low voltage at digital ports 7 & 8

I have been using the Handyboard on an R/C vehicle platform with Hall Effect sensors as the wheel shaft encoders. I've succesfully used the encoders.c routine which requires hooking the Hall Effects to Digital Ports 7&8 for about six months now. The (...) (28 years ago, 2-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  lead acid battery

I would like to replace the battery used on my handyboard with a 12V Lead Acid Battery, either 1.3 ah or 2.2ah. Would I need to make any modifications to the power regulator or charging circuity for this to work? Since the HB charges at 50 mah, I (...) (28 years ago, 2-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Handyboard stuff

I read pretty much every message in the mailing list archive this weekend to catch up on stuff. Things that seemed exciting were: SPI connections to other Handyboards SPI connections to PIC / Stamp boards Serial connections from handy-board to other (...)   rj12

Hello I am asking for RJ12 connectors in electronic components shop in Spain, and they does not know what is that. My question is: What is the difference between RJ11 and R12?, is it mechanical?, just only pin configuration? (28 years ago, 2-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Polaroid sonar transducers

Someone has already taken the neccessary steps to relieve us of most of the work. Go to the HandyBoard HP's Software contributions and look into the directory of "kent". From there, you can download the source code that Kent wrote for the HB sonar (...) (28 years ago, 1-Dec-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Polaroid sonar transducers

HI, I would like to connect my Polaroid transducer to my Handy Board in such a way that I can determine if there are objects in front of me and how far away the object(s) are. I have been trying to watch for notes by others who might have already (...) (28 years ago, 30-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Holiday Tunes for Interactive-C

Happy Holidays Everyone! I have a collection of several different holiday tunes (Jingle Bells, etc...) which can be played using Interactive-C on a Handyboard (or 6.270 board). If your Hanyboard or 6.270 board is just sitting in the corner (...) (28 years ago, 29-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Polariod Sonar

I think you're right. I used a transistor to drive the INIT with its emmiter and feed the TTL signal to the base. It seems to work fine now. :) You know what's funny, I tried using a CMOS chip (HCT) and it was able to drive the INIT signal. I figure (...)   photocells

Hi, In the book "Mobile robotics -Inspiration to Implementation" the addition of a logarthmic amplifier to the o/p of a photocell is discussed. This logarithmic mapping is supposed to make the sensor more sensitive in dark rooms. Has anyone tried (...) (28 years ago, 27-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Using a Radio Shack Fast Track

Has anyone used the Fast Track as a base for a robot and used the H-bridge in it to control the motors ?? Any link where I could find information about it ?? Thanks Oriol (28 years ago, 27-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Polariod Sonar

(...) Although I teach a digital electronics class based on the 74xx series, I'm certainly no expert, but here goes anyway... TTLs seem to have a very low ability to drive anything but minimal loads. Look up "drivers" in the TTL Data Book. They (...) (28 years ago, 24-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: Polaroid & Handyboard

I hooked up the sonar to the +5 and GND on the HB and it wroked fine. I used TIC3 for Echo and pin 9 of 2nd Motor driver for INIT and GND for BINH I also hooked up the sonar power leads to the 9.6V unregulated motor power header! It also worked! (...)   Polariod Sonar

Hi, I'm stuck. I'm trying to use TTL output of 74 series IC's to signal to INIT. I can't get it to work properly. Here's the deal. When I touch INIT to the 5V bus, the transducer "chirps". But when I touch INIT to a high level TTL output, it doesn't (...) (28 years ago, 23-Nov-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
