Hey folks, I can't get my HB downloaded on my dual Pentium Pro running Windows NT (3.51). Anybody done this? HBDL complains that none of the COM ports are available, and my event log claims conflicts occur between COM ports (managed by SERIAL) and (...) It is not completely wacky, but there are issues. For example most audio amplifiers aren't rated for DC operation (that having their output stay at one level permanently) You can fix this by rectifying the output of the amplifier and providing a DC (...) (...) No, that is wrong; the RS232 is converted to TTL at the serial interface board, so you do have TTL on the phone cord. I too was there during the contest though I was not one of the participants. I would like to add that the fire-fighting contest was the very first robot event I have been to. We used OEM barcode reader (IS4120-41 scanner decode engine) from Metrologic Instruments, Inc.. The output of this reader is the barcode ASCII format transmitted across an RS232 line. Attached to this message is the LCD driver I wrote for the Handyboard written using ICC11. Feel free to use it. Some notes on it: The driver is designed to operate asynchronously. I saw some posts during the last three days about subtasks quitting before completing. I never saw a solution, so I will re-ask the question.
