True, but a single 9V battery won't last very long (hours at most) driving
that kind of load, and will probably get quite warm in the process. They're
designed for lighter work. The same's true of a set of 6 AAAs. Either one
would probably be OK for occasional light work with the RCX, but certainly
not for driving vehicles and such for any length of time.
On the other hand, it raises the interesting possibility of designing an
external battery pack using *heavier* batteries, say D-cells, in a heavy-
duty, long-term autonomous vehicle of some sort. Hmmm.... :-)
