The bit we are interested in is ...

                           REAL TIME WIRELESS COLOR VIDEO.
                           WELCOME WIRELESS VIDEO INTO YOUR
HOME! HAVE A BLAST with the latest color
                           video technology from X10!

XCam plugs into VideoSender's transmitter to • send
real-time video signals anywhere in the house!
                           Transmits through walls, 100' range!

Capture camera images on your TV, VCR, WebTV
                           or home computer!

Seems like we might be able to strap this to a bot.
<snip!>

This might not be exactly what you think it is.  My understanding of X-10
is that this home automation standard piggybacks its data signals over the
AC electrical wiring in your house.  Any two appliances that are connected
to AC power can look for this digital info as a slight ripple on top of the
AC power.

If that is how this camera works, then it is "wireless" in that you don't
need to run a cable from the camera to your VCR, but it is not "wireless" in
the sense of being completely untethered -- it must be connected to the
"VideoSender", which, I suspect, must be plugged into an AC outlet in order
to talk to the "VideoReceiver" unit(s) at your VCR or TV.

I could be wrong about this, so if anyone knows for sure, please throw in
your 2 cents.  But I'd definitely ask a real live salesperson about this
before you lay your money down...

(...) It is indeed a radio-based wireless camera, as the page states it operates in the 2.4GHz (ISM) range. Unsure what the power requirements are, it might be perfect for lego stuff if it doesn't suck too much power... TTYL, Omega Erik Walthinsen (...) (25 years ago, 24-Jun-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) This device is really wireless. Check (URL) for details. It operates in the 2.4 GHz range. The basic transmitter/receiver set is $75 (VK22A). Tilman -- Did you check the web site first?: (URL) (25 years ago, 24-Jun-99, to lugnet.robotics)
  Re: wireless camera

(...) Newer X-10 stuff can work via the 2.4ghz RF band as well. Their firecracker product (which I have) does exactly this. It comes with 4 pieces: a 2.4ghz remote, a 2.4ghz transmitter for your PC, a 2.4ghz receiver/lamp controller that you plug (...) (25 years ago, 25-Jun-99, to lugnet.robotics)

For all of you who have dreamed (like me) of hooking up a video camera to a bot, here's your chance. A company called X10 is selling something called an Xcam. This is in conjuction with them giving away (for 5.90 shipping) a product called the (...) (25 years ago, 24-Jun-99, to lugnet.robotics)
