Well, I was looking at http://www.shopping.com (IIRC) and noticed the 2.4GHz
wireless that seem to be similar to what they are describing from X10.
There are also 900Mhz wireless models that are cheaper but I bet they don't
work as well (I have a 900Mhz set, and they work adequately).  You are going
to need a lot of battery power to run it I think, they come with a wall wart
at 18V.  It also seemed like the 2.4GHz are directional while the 900Mhz are
not.

The bit we are interested in is ...

                           REAL TIME WIRELESS COLOR VIDEO.
                           WELCOME WIRELESS VIDEO INTO YOUR
HOME! HAVE A BLAST with the latest color
                           video technology from X10!

                           XCam plugs into VideoSender's
transmitter to
send
real-time video signals anywhere • in the house!
                           Transmits through walls, 100' range!

Capture camera images on your • TV, VCR, WebTV
                           or home computer!

Seems like we might be able to strap this to a bot.
<snip!>

This might not be exactly what you think it is.  My
understanding of X-10
is that this home automation standard piggybacks its data
signals over the
AC electrical wiring in your house.  Any two appliances that
are connected
to AC power can look for this digital info as a slight ripple
on top of the
AC power.

If that is how this camera works, then it is "wireless" in
that you don't
need to run a cable from the camera to your VCR, but it is
not "wireless" in
the sense of being completely untethered -- it must be
connected to the
"VideoSender", which, I suspect, must be plugged into an AC
outlet in order
to talk to the "VideoReceiver" unit(s) at your VCR or TV.

I could be wrong about this, so if anyone knows for sure,
please throw in
your 2 cents.  But I'd definitely ask a real live salesperson
about this
before you lay your money down...
