I am attempting to hook an external power supply up to my RCX 1.5 so I can leave my bot running all the time. I have simply tried to hook up a 9V 800mA wall wart to the terminals, but it does not seem to work. Has anyone already tried this or (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jul-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Ben, It appears you are on the crynwr list, which is maintained seperately from Lugnet. Roc appears to be directly on Lugnet. Roc - If you really have huge problems unsubscribing, post to lugnet.admin and ask Suz for help. Ben - I recommend first (...) (19 years ago, 24-Jul-06, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I had a look at the 1/8" plastic tubing in model railway shops and stalls at shows. I think it's ABS or polystyrene. I have no issues with cutting the tubes either :-) but I don't like painting stuff used as or with LEGO bricks. I think the (...) I read the entire thread, and the rules and ask the question: Why must it ROLL at all? If friction is the name of the game, and if the wheels (tires) are the parts that have the "stickiest" qualities, then why not maximize the surface area of those. (...) Hi Danny, (...) Have you seen real failures using some rechargeables batteries? I believe that the RCX motor driver IC is really foolproof, and I don't think anything could be destroyed using various kind of batteries (provided that the 9 or 10 (...) (19 years ago, 21-Jul-06, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Thanks for your replies. Both are RCX2 and I use the Robolab software. In Administrator / RCX settings you can set the RCX IR-power setting to high or low, but both were already in high.
