Re: Request for info on the Control Lab Interface.

Just today I got one of these from an eBay auction, including the original cable in a sealed plastic bag. The ROBOLAB software wasn't included, however, so I imagine that I'll need a driver of some kind to use it. Does anyone have a driver? (This (...)   TexLUG Austin robotic line-following contest 6/11/06

Folks, The Austin chapter of the Texas Lego Users Group (TexLUG) is holding a robotic line following contest on June 11, 2006. In this line following contest, robots attempt to complete a specified race course by following a black line on a white (...)   Re: Help with converting voltage on circuit board

(...) Thanks Dustin, those will help. I am inclined to agree with Philippe Hurbaine on the regulator. It is also obvious that it can take AC from the full wave rectifier near the power port. In answer to Davids question about the 4v connector (using (...) (20 years ago, 8-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

Re: Help with converting voltage on circuit board

(...) The BDX34 transistor + toroidal inductor above + LM339 comparator probably compose a switching regulator efficiently converting 13V input power to 4.5V for the outputs. Philo (20 years ago, 8-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

Re: Help with converting voltage on circuit board

I've taken some more detailed pictures of the circuit and the reverse side. (URL) through the manual, connections 6 and 7 are for sensors and connections 0-5 are for output (4V as labled on the cover), but you only can turn the circuit on or off. (...)   Re: Help with converting voltage on circuit board

(...) Hi Dustin, I am an EE. Before I give you some advice, I need a bit more information about 9750 (I have never seen one in person): - I see a power jack: I assume this powers the electronic circuit, not the loads, right? What voltage is applied (...) (20 years ago, 8-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

Re: Help with converting voltage on circuit board

(...) Wow - I remember those, we used them at school. Now why is it that Peeron do not have an entry for it under 9750? Those are also some big old capacitors, I would be inclined to check out their ESR (a rating of their health if you like) before (...) (20 years ago, 8-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

Re: Help with converting voltage on circuit board

(...) I am not an EE either but I can see at least 2 things that look like voltage regulators. (20 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

Help with converting voltage on circuit board

I'd like to try to convert the output of the voltage on a 9750 from 4V to 12V (to control 12V trains :). I've taken a photo of the internal circuit board - my rudimentary EE knowledge leads me to be believe I need to swap out the transistors that (...)   LEGO Engineer Software

Does anyone have a copy of or know of a good link to download the LEGO Engineer software - all the links that point to NASA sites don't seem to be valid anymore. Dustin (20 years ago, 7-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Absolutely amazing quadruped robot (watch the video)

How about a biped that mimics human walking, i.e. uses its own inertia to catch itself? (URL) I recommend (URL) the videos from this mirror site>. This one's simple enough it might be possible to build it in LEGO. (20 years ago, 6-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

  NXT Battery Charger

Good news for anyone that already has the transformer for the AC powered RCX. Looks like NXT rechargable battery will use the same one! From the product page: "Use the 979833 Transformer to charge the battery " -Tim (20 years ago, 1-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Mindstorms NXT pre-order at Lego Shop @ Home

Wow, I just received the email from Lugnet permitting me to post here. :-) Today is obviously when NXT pre-orders start, as declared on the home page of Lego Shop at Home. I also received an email, very similar to the one I had a week ago as an MDP (...) (20 years ago, 1-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  [LEGO] Test

I haven't been able to post for a while, I guess something changed since I first become a member of this list about 5-6 years ago. This is a test to see if I can post messages now. Will I be able to post now directly from Outlook or do I have to (...) (20 years ago, 1-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  MOC-Articulated Arm Robot

Hello everyone! I have posted video and pictures of my articulated arm robot with grasping end effector online. I apologize for the poor video, many of you will recognize it as Vision Command video. It is my only source of creating digital video. (...) (20 years ago, 1-Apr-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  RoboLab code generation

Does anyone know if RoboLab just generates and sends bytecodes to the RCX, or does it generate LASM and/or MindScript as an intermediate form? If the latter, how can you get to that intermediate form... will it save .LSC files, for example? Thanks! (20 years ago, 31-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: NXT retail or education version - which are you going to buy and why?

(...) Another important feature of the education version is the 3 RCX converter cables. But AFAIK, you can only pre-order from the lego retail store. So thats the one I'm going to get. If I could wait, I'd get the education version. As it is, I'm (...) (20 years ago, 31-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)

NXT retail or education version - which are you going to buy and why?

I am really excited to get my hands on a NXT and will order on April 1. But where to order it from. LEGO S@H or LEGO Education. The following site has some good comparisons: (URL) I'd like to get it sooner rather them later, I'm inclined to go (...) (20 years ago, 30-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)
