Re: NXT Bot Idea - Audio Tracking

(...) You can do that with the RCX using low-level functions that directly access the H8 microcontroller. (We actually did it with Ultimate ROBOLAB). (URL) already worked out several sound sensors. A particularly interesting one is used in robot (...) (21 years ago, 9-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: So, who IS in the MDP?

(...) Since I haven't gotten my email yet, I'll subscribe to that wishful thinking :D -Tim (21 years ago, 9-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: So, who IS in the MDP?

(...) Of course it's also possible that LEGO still have got yay or nay from the first 100 respondants, and so sending out bummer emails may be premature. ROSCO (21 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: So, who IS in the MDP?

(...) It is true that email is not a "foolproof" way of communicating, but it is not as fallible as you portray. And 9000 is far from "high volume" email. At least if you're talking about a company communicating with its customers. I work for a (...) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: NXT Bot Idea - Audio Tracking

(...) Interesting, although where I live I have a sneaking suspicion the NXT would try to home in on every passing car and truck. But the NXT could be used to track my kids (since I can't do that myself anyway). (...) Well, let's see, the distance (...) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Absolutely amazing quadruped robot (watch the video)

(...) how about this one (URL) there's a little info here (URL) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

Re: Absolutely amazing quadruped robot (watch the video)

Here's another cool robot, this time a tree-climbing hexaped. (URL) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

NXT Bot Idea - Audio Tracking

As I was standing outside today and listening to the woodpeckers in the trees I came up with an idea for a bot using the NXT sound sensor. You've guessed it, a bird finder/tracker. The bot could simply rotate towards the direction of the sound. And (...) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  mechanical XOR and Half Adder

Hi all, I've finally updated my mechanical logic gate pages with a couple of new (ish) creations. The XOR gate and the Half Adder. You can find them by going to (URL) and (URL) I'd stick in a picture or two here ... if I could figure out how ... (21 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.robotics)

real science with Legos - Linear Light Source Reflectometry

It's a bit older, but I was browsing and came across this paper, which was presented at Siggraph 2003: (URL) Linear Light Source Reflectometry> (URL) ... The Robotics device we used is called the Robotics Invention System 2.0. Further information is (...) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

I'm in it. Jason Railton (21 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: So, who IS in the MDP?

(...) Excellent analysis. I'll go with your theory. It's either that or they're waiting to send fake acceptance emails on April 1st as a cruel joke. -Tim (21 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: So, who IS in the MDP?

(...) Oooooooh, I know what's going on here...you see what's *really* happen is that we are all part of the original 100, they just haven't gotten around to sending us an email yet (LEGO are you out there?). Wishful thinking, -aps (21 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: So, who IS in the MDP?

(...) I have not received a "bummer email", and my address is tied to my own domain that I run the email server for. I don't have any email blocking active. I don't think there is any reason for me to be missing the email, other than LEGO not (...) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: So, who IS in the MDP?

(...) Mike, you pretty much hit the nail on the head with this post, thanks. I do believe its worth the added effort to email all those who applied. Besides, not all the applications had gmail or yahoo accounts. So far, I'm slightly peeved at this (...) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: So, who IS in the MDP?

(...) You're certainly not alone, Alexander, but I don't think it's a purposeful thing. It appears that perhaps some (or all?) yahoo e-mail accounts and some (or all?) gmail accounts are not able to receive the e-mails from Lego for some reason. (...) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: So, who IS in the MDP?

(...) Yeah I'm kinda peeved that LEGO hasn't even sent me a bummer email. I received nothing and I have the confirmation that I applied so its not like htat don't have my email. What's up with that? I can accept I didn't make the cut but c'mon...I (...) (21 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)
