You're certainly not alone, Alexander, but I don't think it's a purposeful
thing. It appears that perhaps some (or all?) yahoo e-mail accounts and some
(or all?) gmail accounts are not able to receive the e-mails from Lego for some
reason. Someone told me offline that there has been a problem in the past with
Lego's e-mail system having gmail on a blacklist (because of spam). The reason
that you and I received the confirmation e-mail but not the rejection e-mail is
possibly because the confirmation e-mail was not from Lego (it was from
informative.com).
On the one hand, you'd like to think that Lego would go through the effort to
make sure that everybody received their bummer e-mails. On the other hand, with
nearly 10,000 applicants it would be a huge job for someone to go through each
returned e-mail and try to figure out which ones were because somebody changed
e-mail addresses, which ones are because somebody furnished the wrong address,
and which ones are being falsely rejected.
However, you do have a good point about the offer to get on the early purchase
list. If we never get the e-mail from Lego, how do we get on that list? Is it
a personalize link for each person or is it a link that somebody can post to the
board and we can confirm our status as applicants once we get to the right
webpage?

| (...) Mike, you pretty much hit the nail on the head with this post, thanks. I do believe its worth the added effort to email all those who applied. Besides, not all the applications had gmail or yahoo accounts. So far, I'm slightly peeved at this (...) (18 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)

| (...) I have not received a "bummer email", and my address is tied to my own domain that I run the email server for. I don't have any email blocking active. I don't think there is any reason for me to be missing the email, other than LEGO not (...) (18 years ago, 8-Mar-06, to lugnet.robotics)
