GBC and NXT...so bright I gotta wear shades

I am a GBC/mindstorms guy and I have a few questions for this community: 1) Have any of the MUP/in-the-know folks tinkered with the NXT to create some ball contraptions? If so, can we see them? 2) Are we allowed to see any of the MUPs' creations as (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Dave, I'm a GBC/Mindstorms guy, also. And, a MUP to boot. Maybe I can answer some of your questions. (...) From the very beginning we talked about how the NXT can work within a GBC. We really haven't had enough time to build anything, but even (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  NXT possibilities

I've been looking at the specs -- I can't find clockspeed, but I'm guessing around 16-20mhz (gameboy is 16.7). Years ago, I had some ideas for a very powerful language for robotics/AI research, that could run on systems with limited memory and CPU. (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) (SNIP) (...) This is what I'd like to figure out: Sensor and motor expansion: 1. What is the sensor port protocol (electronically speaking - internal circuit diagrams with voltage and current levels, timing etc...)? 2. What is the motor port (...) (...) Mark, This is a good list, and I think many people are interested in these questions. We may be able to figure out the answer to some of them... (...) You want a multiplexer that looks like a sensor to an NXT, and looks like an NXT to several (...) (19 years ago, 12-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Steve, We at HardLUG have been very busy! I have been working with your nephew on some of his ideas and he on some of mine. Others in the group help out with their respective areas of expertise. We plan on having at least a few modules ready (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: GBC and NXT...so bright I gotta wear shades

(...) I have built a GBC ball counting module, that work perfectly well. The trick is to use a LEGO lamp in front of a light sensor, with the balls passing between them (you must also be sure that balls arrive one at a time). Using NQC events based (...) (...) Apparently the answer is YES. See (URL) says "The MINDSTORMS Education NXT Base Set contains three converter cables so existing LEGO robotics sensors and motors can be used with the NXT brick." So don't dump your old sensors and motors. Roger (19 years ago, 16-Feb-06, to lugnet.robotics)
