    IR Tower —dave madden
   Hi. I have a Puma IR adapter that I think is fairly generic -- it was provided to work with a Sony digital camera, but it receives regular IR remote control transmissions, and *almost* works with my RCX.      Dave, I would be curious if anyone has played with the laptop IR as well. It seems like this should be fairly easy to do.    (...) Almost nothing. Tx is just the TXD signal gated to send the 38kHz carrier. It also ties into a timer circuit for the auto-shutoff. Right you are - but EE's often ignore effects less than 10% in calculations :-) I was referring to the practice of formatting the data such that a byte is always followed by its complement (except for the first part of a sync which is 0x55).    (...) legOS doesn't run the static constructors/destructors. I think. Yet. So C++ may not work as expected. There's also something weird going on still with memory layout.    (...) Look at the Hitachi H8/3292 documentation -- it has all of that for you. Briefly, ROM is 0x0000-3FFF, external address space is 0x8000-0xFB7F, internal RAM is 0xFD80-0xFF7F, external address space is 0xFF80-0xFF87, and the peripheral register (...)
