For the pen up and down, use a gear rack assembly attachec to the pen and to a
motor/guide assembly on the robot. Make it a differential drive robot with a
differential linked rotation sensor found on Jonathan Knudsen (I porbably
butchered that, and I don't have a link). Then make subroutines to do the
specified action when you program it.
