Re: LEGO Cam vs. X10's Xcam vs. other webcams

That was not a general statement. The X10's quality is poor for indoor lighting. There are several better wireless digital cameras out there that is far better than the X10, but it costs a lot more. Cant beat the $50 I paid for the X10 via ebay (...) (25 years ago, 22-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Interfacing Sharp's GP2D12 Distance Sensor to the RCX

Hi, Sorry about that I meant the GP2D12 not GP2D02. The subject line threw me off as the original post was about the D02 not D12... Ram (25 years ago, 22-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: LEGO Cam vs. X10's Xcam vs. other webcams

(...) hmmm... I'm starting to think that the best (and expensive) way to have good quality wireless image is to mount the roverbot with a DV camcorder (those tiny new Digital Video expensive cams) together with a X10 wireless video-sender. :( oh (...) (25 years ago, 22-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  New guy on the blocks

Hi all, I just got a great deal on a RIS 1.5 but it came without the CD. Is there anything on it that I absolutely need to have in order to use the RIS? I can get the firmware from the mindstorm site right? Do I need any extra stuff in order to (...) (25 years ago, 22-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: LEGO Cam vs. X10's Xcam vs. other webcams

The Lego Cam's quality is much better than the X10 as I have both. The X10 was designed for outdoor only and as such needs a lot of light otherwise the image is dark. The Lego Cam is the same as the quickcam. However, the wireless ability of the X10 (...) (25 years ago, 22-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

LEGO Cam vs. X10's Xcam vs. other webcams

Has anyone done (or know where to look for) a review on the image quality of the Lego Cam ? I'm interested to know where the Lego Cam stands when compared with other webcams including analog-video mini-cams like the Xcam ? At least, I would like to (...)   Re: Interfacing Sharp's GP2D02 Distance Sensor to the RCX

(...) The GP2D02 is a very powerful sensor for a robot. Getting it to work will really be great. I think the best bet is to use a 9V battery box for this instead of using a precious output port... Ram (25 years ago, 22-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Search (URL) page for a link related to DOS comms with CyberMaster. Bert van Dam had (still has?) somewhere in his site a source code of a QBasic program for DOS that he used for CM comms in DOS. It worked, I myself used it with an old i8086 (...) (25 years ago, 22-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

Cybermaster: Cannot receive though sending works (w/o sprit.ocx)

Hi, I've written a small Visual Basic program so I can use Cybermaster under Windows 3.1x. (So I cannot use spirit.ocx.) Sending commands works (motor on/off, sound, etc.). But I don't get any echo. I cannot get any sensor data, and I can't see if (...) (25 years ago, 22-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.cybermaster, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: IR Tower problems

(...) Hi Greg, I'm not sure if the RCX IR Tower is the same than the Scout Tower, but I guess it's so. You can't use the printer port (LPT) for the tower. You have to use a serial port (COM1, COM2, ..). If you're not sure if you've got the right (...) (25 years ago, 21-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)
