1. I know I can get the GNU compiler for my PC, but from there how do
I get it setup?
2. How do I unpack the LegOS.tar and download it to the RCX?
3. Are there any program samples that one can look at and use?

Using LegOS looks to be what I am looking for in producing a RCX
mapping robot, since it will allow me to have access to a large enough
memory to not only store the map, but allow the robot to use it for
navaigation.

You should try and fins a cygwin distribution, that'll allow most *nix
software to run on Win95 based thingys, after recompile, I think.

Sopmeone else'll have to tell you where to get it, I've forgotten :)

HTH.
