I have noticed this ongoing thread about the difficulties of debouncing and counting switch closures, and I must say that it is a very real problem anywhere electromechanical switches are interfaced to electronics which is orders of magnitude (...) (25 years ago, 3-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)

Steve, this is the third time you have helped me, and this time you obviously spent a lot of time working out the alternatives. (...) Here's an idea you can try to have them slip a bit less. Do you have the ordinary chain links too? Then ones without the wide tread? If so use an ordinary chain link for every third link, say. (...) Thanks! So do I :) (...) It's from before my dark ages, mainly the 8851 Excavator and the 8660 Arctic Rescue, I also got two with the 8843 Fork Lift truck. You can get a copy on the main Lego site and upgrade your RCX 1.0 or 1.5 to the 2.0 software level...it's a significant improvement if you use NQC - it adds (...) In NQC you count by adding 1 to a variable like this: int counter; counter += 1 But it's hard to know *how much* you have counted; however, you can build a little program to (say) flash a light when you reach a certain count. I have spent about 4 (...) (25 years ago, 2-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)
