Well i havent tried anything myself but i think the most effective way would
be to use a tire in contact with the lens. You've probably tried that
already, but it was the first thing that came to mind. hope it helps.

| If you are willing to give up a half of a large turntable, you could glue the large geared half to the rubber on the camera and drive the gear with a motor on top of the camera. A 26t gear will mesh with a gear head motor on top, but it is a bit (...) (24 years ago, 5-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics)
