  Re: Reducing voltage

(...) Years ago PNLTC used to do this for the kids table at the show. From what I recall, we just drove a screw though the controller at about the 4th notch in the black area on each side to keep it from turning too far. It is a very long lasting, (...)   Reducing voltage

Our club lets kids run the controller for one of the lines when we do certain events (like, right now, with Detroit Festival of Trees), but we could use a way to forcibly limit the speed on the line that they're allowed to run. One way that's really (...) (15 years ago, 23-Nov-09, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NXTasy down

(...) To me all forums look empty and the search function says it's been disabled. If there are server problems or maintenance is being performed, maybe something could be put on the NXTasy blog to inform users of these issues... Jetro (15 years ago, 22-Nov-09, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

  Re: NXTasy down

(...) Seems that now the forums aren't working. Apparently there's a division by zero in the php source code. Firefox claims that any post clicked on gets stuck in a redirect loop. Is this just me, or is this happening to everyone? (15 years ago, 22-Nov-09, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

  Re: Color Sensors Showdown

(...) Thank you for another great review/test. I've been wondering for some time if it would make sense to order the HiTechnic Colour Sensor since I already have the LEGO Colour Sensor. Now I know. Jetro (15 years ago, 14-Nov-09, to lugnet.robotics.nxt, FTX)

Infrared Tower Refuses to Communicate with or Detect RCX

Hello everyone, I have had my RIS 2.0 for about 6 or so years. At the time I purchased it, my skills were not sufficient to realize the true potential of the system, and I never did anything advanced with it. Just a few days ago, I dug up my RCX and (...) (...) Just tried (URL) and it is back up again as of Friday, October 13th, 2009 at 5:14pm CST. Thank goodness! John Hansen (15 years ago, 13-Nov-09, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

  Re: NXTasy down

(...) There is no way that NXTasy is gone for good. APlus.net appears to be the hosting company. They have undergone a big upgrade of hosted sites which may be the root cause for the site being down. Eric Salinas is the owner of the site but there (...) (15 years ago, 13-Nov-09, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.technic)

  Re: NXTasy down

(...) Eric Salinas. (...) The "Internet Archive Wayback Machine" at least has some pages from Nxtasy, between July '06 and April '08: (URL) that helps somewhat. :-/ Ttfn, Tony (15 years ago, 13-Nov-09, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: NXTasy down

(...) That doesn't sound good at all... Losing the site would be a tragedy not just because it is a great place to get answers from the people who really know, but also because of all the answers and solutions that can be found on the forum.   Re: NXTasy down

(...) I wish we did. NXTasy has gone down for reasons unknown, and at least so far hasn't come back up. The only guy who has admin privileges (Eric... something. I don't remember his last name) hasn't been around for a while, and no one has been (...) (15 years ago, 12-Nov-09, to lugnet.robotics)

  NXTasy down

I've been trying to read the NXTasy front page and forums for a couple of days without any luck. The site appears to be down. Does anyone know what's going on? Jetro (15 years ago, 12-Nov-09, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: RCX not listening to IR remote

(...) They are talking about the old IR remote (#9738), not the PF one. So, it should work like a charm. Cheers, Matija (15 years ago, 27-Oct-09, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: RCX not listening to IR remote

(...) I'm not at all that certain the RCX can actually listen to the remote. If I recall correctly, Bob Kojima got the RCX to work as a remote control for the PF IR-Receiver, but to do so he used BrickOS and it would only work with an RCX 1.0 I (...) (15 years ago, 26-Oct-09, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: RCX not listening to IR remote

Firstly, do you have the firmware on the RCX in question? If the screen shows 00.00.00 then you should be good (i think). Turn on the RCX, and start pressing buttons. Connected motors and lights should start doing "things" repsonding to the (...) (15 years ago, 26-Oct-09, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: RCX not listening to IR remote

Chris, I don't think the RCX will "listen" to the remote, unless you've loaded the firmware. The firmware will need replaced, if the batteries have been removed (or have died). On the RCX, it will show the program number (1-5), and it will also (...) (15 years ago, 26-Oct-09, to lugnet.robotics)

RCX not listening to IR remote

I just dug all my old Mindstorms RCX gear out of the closet because my 4-year old son is now ready to play with gears and motors and stuff. Programming is a bit off yet, but he loves the technics parts. I was trying to get the RCX to work with the (...) (15 years ago, 25-Oct-09, to lugnet.robotics)
