Re: NELUG at Mindfest, A quick summary and more photo's.

(...) And as if he hasn't suffered enough indignities in this thread, I spelled Michael Gasperi's name wrong. Memory OK, but verification of facts better! At least I was able to help him secure one of the coveted "MindFest Staff" tee- shirts. (...)   Re: AI and even more exiciting stuff

Re: NELUG at Mindfest, A quick summary and more photo's.

(...) I wasn't there for both days, but the times I was there, I had a total blast. The best part was meeting great friendly people and putting faces to names finally, and seeing LEGO designs like Jin Sato's MIBO and the NELUG Star Wars models "in (...)   Re: H8 tools problems on Linux

(...) I've compiled LegOS under RedHat 5.2 without problems. I recently upgraded to 6.0 and I still have no problems. Have you downloaded some odd version of gcc or binutils? I've experienced problems when compiling gcc 2.95, but they can (easily) (...) (26 years ago, 24-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: Homebrew Sensor Workshop Slides

'SWonderful! Wonderful! OMG! I'm only up to Slide 3 and already a mystery has been revealed to me! (Actually it's obvious now, upon examination, to these almost (ha!) middle-aged eyes.) Fantastic presentation! I wanna be there next year! (...) (26 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: H8 tools problems on Linux

Thanks for the plug, Jacob. I in fact have received a set of instructions for gcc 2.9.5, and began the work of integrating them into the HOWTO last night. However, I was interrupted and will not have time to finish the task tonight, so do expect gcc (...) (26 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

Re: It works! iMac and RIS

(...) Speaking of RoboLab, Ben Erwin had a table at MindFest past this weekend with several demo-arrangements of RoboLab. I'd known from the screenshots that it was pretty nice, but being able to talk to Ben and ask questions and actually see the (...) (26 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Expansion Board and Smooth PWM

I really need to know how to get all my files correct to run both the expansion board and the smooth PWM routines at the same time. I downloaded both zip files but am unsure which files to use. (...) [snip] (...) [snip] <Grump> I have Virtual PC 3.0 on my G4/400 (at this moment). It used freeze almost every time I put a CD in, currently it won't even boot. I have no faith whatsoever that it will work on MY machine. I'm getting my money (...) (26 years ago, 26-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: IntelliMouse Ripe for Hacking

(...) I've had one for a fortnight now, no complaints apart form not having one on each computer. (...) They are nothing like the old optical mice which required a special mouse pad. I have even tried it on the cat & it still works fine. I dont (...) (26 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: IntelliMouse Ripe for Hacking

Hmmm, I like this. Anyone know how much and where I can buy one of these (Best Buy maybe)? Has anyone figured out how close to the surface it has to be to "read" it? I am also wondering if the angle of incidence matters? It would definately be easy (...) (26 years ago, 25-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  fried memory

I suspect that I fried my memory chip. The handyboard downloads Pcode perfectly, but when it tries to synchronize with interactive C, I get an error. While the board is off the 62256-12LP and the 74HC132 chips stay hot. is there a good diagnostic (...) (26 years ago, 26-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: H8 tools problems on Linux

(...) Hi! I got the precompiled tools from the LegOS page, tried with both the 'old' and the 'new' set... by the way, the Windows version works fine. Not 0.2.0, but that's not the tools' fault... thanks for all the help Vlad (26 years ago, 26-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos)

  Re: Controlling two robots simultaneously

  Re: fried memory

it might not be permanently dead, but if it's not, it's not working. one (or more) of the outputs of these two chips is probably shorted to ground or shorted to +5v. the chips get hot when they try to drive this output to a state other than the one (...)   Eltec 442 Pyroelectric Sensor

Hi, I purchased an Eltec 442-3 Pyroelectric Sensor from acroname. I know pin 1 is V+ 5V but I don't know how I should connect pin 2,3,4 to my handy bord/expansion board.
