(...) You could get a battery adaptor, that is, a device for putting AAA batteries where AA batteries should go. They're available easily here in the UK - Maplins for example. Hi, I'm writing a Visual C++ program to control simultaneously 2 RCX (using Spirit.ocx). I'd need to know when a task is ended to start the download of a new task (I'd need a kind of TaskDone event). There is one on in Sydney now, with a lego robot, kinda like a bull-dozer, pushing all the dinner plates off a dinner table. Pretty funny.... I would like to know why the sony ir_data() only display 8 bit number instead of the 12 or 13 bit IR message? Does the number represent data only instead of the address or device? I was thinking of using only one at the end (attached to the + where it goes onto the PCB), and running a lead to clip onto the first (attached to the - ). The 4 middle ones can be ignored. I know that some of you use pneumatics for yuor robots. How do you do that? I suppose you use a compressor and a motor to change the valve, but that requires two motors and 2 is all that come with the MindStorms. Yes, I can buy more, but I´d like to (...) I have been searching for the answer to this one for a while. My intent is to find a supplier who has small electrically operated (solenoid) valves which can be driven by the RCX output(s). I guess TLG still tries to aim their product at children => Childres build cars => Cars cannot be plugged in and drive at the same time => Remove connector because it is not needed => lower production cost. (...) Yes, I have done it, perhaps others. I use mine nearly every day connected to a GPS, but it has nothing to do with robotics.
