I checked out shelloil.com, I could not find any info on Lego while at the
site. I did find out there are over 9000 Shell stations in the US.

How did the promotion work in S.Cal? Was there a min purchase requirement?

Given the popularity of the first LEGO promotion in the US this past spring,
Shell has partnered with LEGO for another promotion.  I'm not sure if this is
going to be a national promotion or not.  It may only be in Sothern • California
again.

The information that I got from Lego Consumer Afffairs is that 6500 Shell
stations will be participating in this promo. I believe that they are the
corporate owned stores and not the franchised stores.

The promotion is scheduled to run November 20 - December 31.
Also, I was told by Consumer Affairs that the shell promo was starting on Nov
6th. However, this may be the date that Lego was going to start shipping the
sets to Shell. They were not clear...

Here is
a run down of the sets that will be part of the promotion and rumored MSRP:

ITEM ITEM DESCRIPTION
1246 Helicopter - 1.69
1247 Police Car - 1.69
1248 Fire Boat - 1.69
1249 Medic Motorcycle - 1.69
1250 Dragster - 1.69
1251 Go Cart - 1.69
1252 Tanker - 6.99
1253 Transporter - 6.99
1254 Select Store - 11.99
1255 Car Wash - 11.99
1256 Service Station - 19.99

I was also told (not from LEGO) by more than two sources that 2554, 2555, and
2556 were going to be offered. I believe these were some of the sets in the
initial SOCAL test...Anyway, I hope they offer all of the sets.

The previous So Cal promotion did not require minimum purchase, however the price varried. The small sets were $1.99 regular price, and $1.19 with minimum purchase of $8. They did not limit the number of $1.19 sets you could purchase, so if you (...) (24 years ago, 12-Oct-00, to lugnet.promo)
