Re: Yo ho ho, a pirate's life for me!

(...) Ahoy there! Your post appeared just in time! (...) Ha! :) Poor pirates, with those striped-shirt tattooes on their chests... (...) »snipped links« Very nice. I especially like the way you used plastic minifig capes for sashes. (...) Sweet. The (...) (18 years ago, 17-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

(...) No pun intended JoJo? ;-) <snip> (URL) look really good, but not a hook or peg leg among them (not to mention a macaw)! And I need a wharf rat to sneak into the pic... oh, and while I'm at it, how about a wench or two:-) JOHN (18 years ago, 17-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Yo ho ho, a pirate's life for me!

Aye! I've always been a fan of pirates. Prior to Lego's official Pirates line I was forced to create my pirate figures with non-Lego material. I leave out the link to those customized figs here. Anyway, in 1989 Lego came up with real pirates and I (...) (18 years ago, 17-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX) !!

  Re: Le Castor

(...) Thanks! Individuality is something I always go for. A MOC which has even the smallest bit of story about it, is often a lot nicer to look at and keeping to do that. (...) I'm not such an authority about the real thing, and this particular ship (...) (18 years ago, 13-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.boats)

  Re: Le Castor

(...) I'm glad I got mixed up over that email cos I don't normally frequent .pirates and I would have missed a nice ship. I always think it must be hard to a do a ship differently working on the same bases but you (and Richie) show that there are (...) (18 years ago, 11-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.boats)

  Re: Le Castor

Hi Tim, Thanks! I was going to add that newsgroup but couldn't find it very quick, and thought it not very important. Well I learned it the hard way then. Thanks as well for your nice understandable directions as how to post like a man should. (...) (18 years ago, 9-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.boats, lugnet.announce.moc)

  Re: Le Castor

(...) Hi Jakob, Neither .pirates nor .boats are terribly well frequented (I saw this because I am nosy). When announcing an MOC add lugnet.announce.moc to your newsgroups and set followups to the other places eg. here you would post to (...)   Re: Le Castor

Hi people, I'm sorry to respond to my own post. However, I wondered, is it normal that noone responds to my topic for a week? In my eyes topics about MOCs are the most valuable, and I'm really curious. Thanks if anyone (anyone!) answers, Jakob P.S. (...) (18 years ago, 9-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.boats)

  Le Castor

A vessel confiscated by the Galleaux navy in a time of war, with a four-cannon broadside and three masts. A studdless ship with origins in the pirates theme. This is my first (online) sailing ship, and with that, my first Lugnet post. Thank you, (...) (18 years ago, 2-Oct-06, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.boats) !!

  Re: 18th Century Howitzer

Great work! I posted this over on EB so all the pirate fanatics there can see it. Nice to see a such a 'simple' design. God Bless, Nathan Visit my brickshelf gallery: (URL) (pic=link) (18 years ago, 1-Oct-06, to lugnet.build.military, lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  18th Century Howitzer

I was playing around with guns for an American Revolutionary War project that I'm working on when I came up with this. I thought I'd share, since cannon designs seem to be in short supply.   Re: Pirate ship big vignette

(...) Hi Aaron, Thanks. As I said, I'd love too but it would be too expensive. Now if every Lego maniac from the planet earth would send me 1 $ I could buy all the parts... ......... no wait, if every Lego maniac from around the world would send me (...)   Re: Pirate ship big vignette

(...) Hi Nathan, Thanks. Making the complete ship would need too many parts but I will think to that. Eric (18 years ago, 29-Sep-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  Door

Hi all, Was going to surround this door by a tudor house but I'm feeling kind of uninspired so I think I'll just share it. (URL) As you can see it has a massive footprint but perhaps someone would like to use it (or something similar). The (...)   Re: Pirate ship big vignette

(...) I know you said you wouldn't, but I would love to see that completed as a full ship ;). I think my favorite detail is the ships helm as a winch. It is spot on and look real. But then again it all looks damn impressive. Aaron A (18 years ago, 28-Sep-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Warning--this post contains info about clone brands

As some of you may be aware, the two brands Cobi and Best-Lock merged not too long ago, thereby giving Cobi access to the US market and also sweeping that gosh-awful non-compatible Best-Lock stuff into the dustbin. Anyway, the first offerings from (...) (18 years ago, 28-Sep-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

  Re: Pirate ship big vignette

(...) What a nice bignette! I like the design of the hull... It would be a very large (and detailed) ship if this scale were used! xposted to .vignette "Big Daddy" Nelson (18 years ago, 28-Sep-06, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.build.vignette, FTX)

  Re: Pirate ship big vignette

WOW! Gorgeous. Now if only you could do a whole ship on this scale. I particularly like the centrality of the stairs and the hatch at the bottom (unsure of nautical term). The various crew and bystanders are also beautifully positioned. The shield (...) (18 years ago, 26-Sep-06, to lugnet.pirates, FTX)

Very nice work! This is my faviourite sculpture in ages! The whole thing is so realistic and beautiful it was a pleasure to look at. Now I am picturing a cave inside similar to Peter Pan...
