(...) It depends partly on your reason for doing so. Using a smaller unit would allow you to play a "larger" game field in a small, confined space. A 4-stud unit is to a 4' playing space as a 3-stud unit is to a 3' playing space. Well, other than (...) (21 years ago, 20-Apr-04, to lugnet.pirates)

Here are a few question I still have about the pirate game. 1.) I've noted no real hard rules for merchant ships in the rules. 2.) Do ship models really have to be able to hold the cargo they carry? 3.) Does anyone have a picture of mast island? I (...) (21 years ago, 20-Apr-04, to lugnet.pirates)

(...) Yes. I've found that having 2 basic sizes will serve you well - a relatively long range (say about 20 inches or so) per player or (less preferable) pair of players, made of 2x4s, with 4-5 layers of bricks/plates so that it's pretty sturdy.
