  Re: Provincial Village

Oh my God, Jon. This is just what I need! Do you have the plans for sale? I just love this whole village. Hugs, Shirley. (22 years ago, 5-Feb-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Provincial Village

Hi jon! (...) Now, THAT's what a late medieval town should look like! I think you met the style of this time periode very well with those small and narrow houses. If I aimed to find a fault I'd say that the blue soldiers in front of the Public House (...) (22 years ago, 5-Feb-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Provincial Village

(...) <snip> Excellent work Jon. The sets look great together. Pirate era continental europe certainly looks a happier place than the medieval equivalent. And your sausage machine is very clever! Cheers Richie (22 years ago, 5-Feb-03, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Rainbow warriors

(...) I've found some pics of 18th century Hungarians in white (with tricorns, too). (Cavalry, unfortunately :-( ) (...) Anything's *possible* :-) (...) Yes, please! (...) Absolutely! Richie (22 years ago, 5-Feb-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Rainbow warriors

(...) Thanks for those. It looks like I'll have to find some more horses and saddles, as all the unusual uniforms seem to worn by cavalry units. (...) Good suggestion! I've subsequently found a pic of yellow coated Spanish cavalry as well. Cheers (...) (22 years ago, 5-Feb-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Pirate Project?

(...) That would be fun. I could suggest my port section that I did for BrickFest 2002's Modular Castle town as a standard... I do need to populate this with Pirates and get my pirate town up... Frank (22 years ago, 5-Feb-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Provincial Village

Hey All, I intended to post my year two creations for the modular castle system this week, but after some thinking I decided not to head in that direction as it seems to be a bit of a time waste.* I mentioned that the modular system was not (...)   Re: Pirate Project?

What about a modular wharf ? We could set standard dock heights, etc.... "Sean Devolites" <hotshot3396@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:H9r873.8qD@lugnet.com... (...) (22 years ago, 4-Feb-03, to lugnet.pirates)

(...) #1 - Portuguese "Caçadores" (Chasseurs) in the napoleonic wars, brown uniform (lots of possible colour variations for trousers). The Contemporary Portuguese army featured such a vast number of colour combinations that you're likely to find (...) (22 years ago, 4-Feb-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Pirate Project?

Hi Sean, I've been thinking along similar lines lately -- with the .space crowd having their Moonbase, and the .trains folk having their... well... trains... Anyway, I like the 'forts' idea -- or more precisely, a project where groups of us start up (...) (22 years ago, 4-Feb-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Rainbow warriors

G'day, If I'm not mistaken -- and keep in mind that I probably am -- the Portugese wore Brown coats and white trousers. Yellow... what's starting to cross my mind are Sicilian or Piedmontese... one of those Italian or Papal states that had their (...) (22 years ago, 4-Feb-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Rainbow warriors

Ahoy, Following my Spanish, Austrian and Brunswicker infantry (green, dark grey and black respectively), I'm wondering what other colours could be used for vaguely accurate 18th-19th century soldiers. I think that light grey (Belgian IIRC) and white (...) (22 years ago, 4-Feb-03, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Little pirate boat spotted in upcoming 2003 sets

(...) I have to admit, it would be rather difficult to make an accurate junk in such a small size. It's worth the effort! (...) This brings to my mind an interesting subject... IIRC, after the epic expedition by admiral Zheng He (sp?), who sailed (...) (22 years ago, 3-Feb-03, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Little pirate boat spotted in upcoming 2003 sets

(...) It lacks the sloping decks of a typical junk, and the sides look decidedly western to my eye (actually they look a lot like the sides of that cutter we all know and love). (...) Longer is easy, wider is a bit more difficult. But longer or (...) (22 years ago, 3-Feb-03, to lugnet.pirates)

  Pirate Project?

Wassssup All, Being a good pirate fan, I was thinking. Since there hasn't been to much action in .pirate lately (some yes, but not enough) I was wondering if it'd be cool to start a project. Maybe like an army project where we show all of our (...) (22 years ago, 3-Feb-03, to lugnet.pirates)

(...) Junk, as in the name of the boat, not an assessment of it's qualities. The battens (long wooden reinforcements in the sails running from the mast to the sail's trailing edge) are hinted at by the points on the sail's edge. Very cool, but this (...)   Re: Little pirate boat spotted in upcoming 2003 sets

(...) A close-up of the set (which was leaked by Marz) can be seen here: (URL) it is a fairly nice ship, with multiple applications if necessary. The Chinese Sailors look pretty nice in their helmets. The boat itself has funny looking sides, this (...) (22 years ago, 3-Feb-03, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: Little pirate boat spotted in upcoming 2003 sets

(...) Isn't that a chinese boat? I don't know the English name for it, in Portuguese it's "junco". Pedro (22 years ago, 3-Feb-03, to lugnet.pirates)

Re: South Pacifique Military developments (was Re: Highlanders, and the South Pacific Military Tattoo..)

Niice. If TLG ever made these figs (probably not), I'd break the bank making an army or three. Keep up the good work! Take care, Soren (22 years ago, 1-Feb-03, to lugnet.pirates, lugnet.loc.au)
