Seeing as how Kenneth Tam was mentioning how crowded the South

Good Lord. That's one magnificent ship, LFB! She does a *lot* of credit to
her namesake, I think, and the whole Japanese shipbuilding industry.
Excellently done with the bow! And the secondary armament... *wow*.

How many studs is she? She doesn't look to be too compressed from the side.

Thanks!  I just took a measurement, and it's 499 studs including the
chrysanthemum on the bow.  The scale of the ship is about 1/60,
so if a minifig is 1/35, it's definitely compressed.

I'd be kind of spooked if I were an escort carrier cavorting
around the Archipelago these days.  ;)

Remember Leyette Gulf! (Between many sessions of prayer, that is)

Oooh, Leyte Gulf.  (The reason for the joke is that Richard based
his HES Valhalla on the Gambier Bay, which actually *was* sunk by
a Japanese heavy cruiser at Leyte.)

...more to come, as Brickfest galleries go up and I can produce
  a proper page...

I really can't wait. You really should start a sight for the 'Braun
Shipyards'! Armstrong-Vickers used to build the best cruisers in the world,
you certainly build the best Lego warships afloat in this category! You
should start taking orders!

Heh.  It's a thought...I have enough light grey left to build a small
(~150 stud) destroyer.  Too bad there isn't any dark grey left!

   best
