  Re: Treasure chest question

(...) [major cutlass snippage] (...) Say it ain't so! I'd rather be flogged wi' a salt-encrusted cat than be haulin' a transparent pink chest aboard me ship, lass. Whot next, pink sails? Sounds like sump'in some starboard-coaster would do, or one of (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.castle)

  Re: Pirate minifig question

(...) ??? Oh, was that first sentence supposed to mean: Meant to label the stylish *English* officers as French? They were traitors? The French were pansies? No pansies are English? Americans kicked their candy sterncastles anyway. :-) Bruce (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Treasure chest question

(...) Hmmm... I think I noticed another difference, betwen the pegs in different chests... the one trans. pink chest I have has smaller pegs than the others, I believe; I discovered this when I tried to mix&match the lids, but they didn't stay on (...)   Re: Treasure chest question

(...) I can't say I've ever noticed a difference in the chests other than the obvious brown/black difference. Brown chests came/come in pirate and castle sets. I think they were introduced for the castle system. The black chests I have came from (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.pirates, lugnet.castle)

  Re: Bulk pirate parts?

(...) Chests, no but treasure certainly. If lego direct ever offers coin pieces in bulk then it will finally be possible to make a model of scrooge mcducks money bin :) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Bulk pirate parts?

(...) I'm hoping for this greatly... if we see some minifig parts, I'll be happy... (not full minifigs though, please! <x fingers> (...) Aren't these just 1x1 rounds? In whcich case, there'd be a demand for them across themes, not just for (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.pirates)

Sailing ships and bits and bobs

Evening all, Just a quick note of thanks and appreciation for James Howse' and Paul Baulch's efforts in bringing another ship to the dock at Port Block. A new two masted, two centre sectioned, six gunned naval vessel stands moored, awaiting (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Bulk pirate parts?

(...) Do people really need treasure chests in bulk? I'm practically swimming in them, so it never even crossed my mind to think of them as something to order... J (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Pirate minifig question

(...) to (...) rarer (...) you (...) Meant to lable the stylish as French, not the French as stylish. Those aristocratic "fighters" are a lot of pansies, and don't deserve to deserve to be labeled English. Though the Duke of Wellington was an (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Models for Display at Kidvention

Hey everybody... I am looking for a few models to display at the Kidvention with the LDraw setup. They need to have a virtual representation in .dat format so we can print up a poster of a rendering of the model. I'm looking for stuff from a lot of (...) All officers could be in blue, and though I'm not aware of the French equivilant of marines, perhaps a company of voltigeurs with blue coats and red (...)   Re: Pirate minifig question

(...) This is not an unreasonable approach historically, assuming you are trying to duplicate the British navy (with Hornblower, Bolitho, Lewrie, Aubrey/Maturin and no doubt more series, at least there is a lot of inspiration). Naval pressed (...) (24 years ago, 15-Jun-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Pirate minifig question

I've been reading the Hornblower stories (and I watched the A&E miniseries) and I've decided to change my "classification" of the Pirate minifigs. I think something more realistic would be: Blue soldiers: Replace shako with bicorn hat, naval (...) (24 years ago, 15-Jun-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Similiarities in Pirate sets

Hello, Has anyone noticed that 6270 and 6281 are similiar? I did. They both have a shipwreck, mast, a rope bridge and a trap door leading to a lower level jail. They both are one of the bigger pirate bases, too. For those who forgot, 6270 is (...) (24 years ago, 15-Jun-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Bulk pirate parts?

(...) Honestly, don't hold your breath waiting - they are going to put out the items that they can sell in true bulk, and anything pirate-specific is going to be way down the list. But if they get around to it, minifig items would be the most likely (...) (24 years ago, 15-Jun-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Bulk pirate parts?

(...) I aggree here with the pirate parts, minifig accessories are going to be the most likely to get. I recon that we might be lucky and see some of these as possibilities: minifig parts of all kinds cannon (I know a few people who would love to (...) (24 years ago, 15-Jun-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Re: Bulk pirate parts?

(...) I hate to say it, but most of the special pirate parts are probably not going to be on the menu. Things like hulls and such are too expensive and unweildy to buy in bulk - who's going to buy 100 red 16w bow pieces? (Except maybe Evil Stevie, (...) (24 years ago, 15-Jun-00, to lugnet.pirates)

  Bulk pirate parts?
