Re: A familiar uniform on a minifig MOC

(...) *blush* Thank you for your kind words. (...) You're looking at the one and only. :) (...) Thanks. I think it came out pretty well. A fair amount of work to do, but not especially _hard_ work once you've cracked the trick of how to do the (...)   A familiar uniform on a minifig MOC

A familiar uniform on a minifig MOC ===...=== Hi everyone. I thought that some of you might be interested in a recently completed custom minifig of mine - a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in dismounted full dress scarlet. Thanks to (...)   Re: Lego Parts You Hate....

(...) For the 8t gears, try putting the pin into a beam, hold it in place with the back of [LDrawPart 3959], and pull on the gear. --Bram (20 years ago, 1-Sep-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.parts, FTX)

Oh you can get those out easily enough, all you need is a sharp object, like a table edge or metal ruler edge, poke the gear with axle/bush in a bit, by (...)   Re: Lego Parts You Hate....

(...) Minitalia bricks are like that! I'm glad that the headlight/washing machine brick has been redeemed! It's one of my faves. I can see why Gary doesn't care for it, it's indeed a poor substitute for a 1x1 window brick, but it's tres useful! (20 years ago, 30-Aug-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.parts, FTX)

  Re: Lego Parts You Hate....

(...) I use something like that myself, but with some of the studless constructions - I have had the axle start to bend worryingly before the pins pop. I dont like sacrificing Lego though. another thing I hate is when an axle pin gets stuck, and (...) (20 years ago, 30-Aug-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.parts)

  Re: Lego Parts You Hate....

(...) I have one of these on my building table (URL) it works wonders. There's only ever been a couple i've needed to demolish with pliers. ROSCO (20 years ago, 30-Aug-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.parts)

  Re: Lego Parts You Hate....

(...) If there is one part I hate - it must be the old technic friction pin. When they get stuck, they get well and truly wedged, and when building "new" technic style models based on liftarms - you get one of those in by accident, you are in for a (...)   Re: Lego Parts You Hate....

(...) snip (...) Agreed! Lately, I've been noticing a lot of building problems that could be solved by hollow-stud plates/bricks. Marc Nelson Jr. (URL) Marc's Creations>> (20 years ago, 30-Aug-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.parts, FTX)

  Re: Lego Parts You Hate....

(...) These are nice for single color steam domes. I never liked the notched edges on 2x2 round brick. (...) My initial reaction to this part was of a similar vein, but I recently built a large retainer wall, using mostly 1xNx5 and 2xNx1 bricks. And (...)   Re: BBB Train Hand Car - Quarter Bushes

(...) Thanks Dean, The best photo I have of the quarter bushes in use is this one of the LMS Garratt: (URL) bushes are behind the triangular brackets hat hold the middle driving wheels.   Re: Brick versions over the years

(...) Dave, Part of the problem is that there are no easy answers. The overlap in different mold variations for elements is so mixed up, to almost render any year/type mold/part statistics meaningless. Here are a few examples: 1) Waffle bottom (...) (20 years ago, 28-Aug-05, to lugnet.parts)

Re: Brick versions over the years

(...) Thanks, Gary! I had the feeling someone else out there would be interested in this. Good to know I am not the only person to take an interest in vintage brick variations. :) (...) Has anyone tried to contact TLC in this matter? They ought to (...) (20 years ago, 28-Aug-05, to lugnet.parts)

Re: Parts I like to see for real

(...) I remember that thread Allan, great thread! I especially liked your regular/low sloped concave corner brick. Yeah that 4x4 corner brick was pretty cool. It was introduced by TLG in November of 1954 (no tubes underneath), got tubes in 1958, and (...) (20 years ago, 24-Aug-05, to lugnet.parts, FTX)

Re: Parts I like to see for real

Hi Jaco, (...) I'm with you.... there are some parts I'd enjoy seeing as well. (...) Here's a part I'd love to see. And like your question/request about the 1x5 brick and plate, I am also curious to know why such a seemingly 'basic' part has never (...)   Re: Brick versions over the years

(...) Some parts are tracked in the Peeron database as to when they changed, like the "Plate 1 x 1 with Clip Vertical" (4085a, 4085b, 4085c), which had 3 versions (Type 1: 1979-1987, Type 2: 1987-1992, Type 3: 1993-present). Other types of changes, (...) (20 years ago, 22-Aug-05, to lugnet.parts)
