  Re: Pitsco bulk order

The order arrived today, all but two parts were shipped, (they're back-ordered). I'll bring the sets to the Sept 28th meeting as I promised. I hope that everyone that ordered will be there to pick them up. If not, we'll arrange something afterwards. (...) (22 years ago, 12-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  Re: Simon Says Robot

One detail I forgot to mention about the Simon Says robots - the IR window of the RCX should be facing the "front" of the robot. Also, since the 'caller' robot will be placed on a slightly elevated platform, in order to receive calls when you happen (...) (22 years ago, 4-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  NWBrickCon Info

Since SMART is one of the groups in the Seattle area sponsoring the NWBrickCon, I'm hoping that many of us will be able to bring robots for exhibits. Anything that looks like it would be interesting for others to look at, especially if it can (...) (22 years ago, 4-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  Simon Says Robot

I appologize for not getting this out sooner. Here are the 'official' specs for the Simon Says robot. I've written them as a NQC program so that anyone can use it, even if they haven't done much programming. But feel free to modify the way the (...) (22 years ago, 3-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  Re: Pitsco bulk order

(...) A few people have already contacted me and placed their orders. If you want to order some parts, let me know by early Wednesday morning, say around 9AM at the latest. Also, Doug Bell is interested if anyone wants to split the following: (...) (22 years ago, 3-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  Pitsco bulk order

  Answer to Firmware Question

HI Everyone, Someone asked me at the meeting on upgrading the firmware on the RCX1.0 to the RCX2 firmware. I just did some snooping around to find an official source and here it is. Goto: (URL) download the sdk (software development kit). Run the (...) (22 years ago, 31-Jul-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  July 27th SMART meeting

The next SMART meeting is just under two weeks away. We'll meet on July 27th, at 2pm, in the Redmond Regional Library (room 2).   Re: Meeting ideas

I'm willing to give a couple of presentations. What sort of presentations does everyone want to have? I'm starting to dig into the internals of the RCX, standard firmware and NQC. Does anyone want a presentation on that? I think the important part (...) (22 years ago, 25-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  Re: Meeting ideas

(...) Personally I think it's a really good idea. The only question is, who is going to do the presentations? Volunteers are required. I don't want to have the same two or three people doing these over and over, it's not fair to them, as it can take (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  Meeting ideas

Unfortunatly I will not be able to make the meeting next month. I have some ideas about possible improvments for the meetings. I think it would be great if we had some presentations or something like that to help us learn more about mindstorms and (...) (22 years ago, 18-Jun-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  Re: Challenge Ideas

I got the following in email from Larry. He also sent this to lugnet.org.us.smart@lugnet.com but it does not seem to appear on the lugnet smart page.   Re: Technic part that allows powered steering

(...) The set listed on Amazon is <set:8465> Extreme Off-Roader, the price is full retail ($40). The description listed on Amazon appears to be in error, although the part count and price are correct. Brickwise must be keying off of the description (...)   Technic part that allows powered steering

For those who went to the SMART meeting on Saturday, I showed a robot frame I was working on ((URL) would allow wheels to be steered and powered at the same time. There's very few technic parts that will let you do this, the one that I used ((URL) (...) (23 years ago, 23-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)

  May 2002 Meeting Notes

Today's SMART meeting was a tremendous success. Several dozen people showed up. At least seven people brought robots for the mini-challenge - locating a 100-watt lightbulb near the floor. Most of them were able to find the light even when it was not (...) (23 years ago, 19-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.smart)
