Re: Brikwars TL6 Initial Details (6/15/02?)

(...) As a follow up... here's what I'm working on: 32x32 - Science Lab. 16x32 - Hallway (not sure if is going to be I, T, H or S). 32x32 - Hangar #1. 48x48 - Undefined yet, but it has an airlock and space suit storage. J.- (22 years ago, 30-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: Brikwars TL6 Initial Details (6/15/02?)

I figured I'd post to make sure we don't get a duplicate room... But here's what I started fooling around with: 32x32 - Sick Bay (at present it kinda reminds me of a dentist's office) 32x32 - Undecided 16x16 - Storage 16x32 - T-hallway DaveE (22 years ago, 30-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: Brikwars TL6 Initial Details (6/15/02?)

(...) Another possibility is to build the modules atop dark grey 8x8/8x16 megabricks (suitably multiplied, of course); that would solve the odd baseplate depth problem. Yes, I know it's more expensive, but by the prevailing price for 8x16s on (...) (22 years ago, 25-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

  BrickWars?

Hi all, Who is putting together BrikWars games at BrickFest? I'd be interested to hear what kinds of scenarios are being planned, for what times. The game being planned by NELUG ( (URL) ) seems very cool and I'm wondering if something like that (or (...) (22 years ago, 25-May-02, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: Brikwars TL6 Initial Details (6/15/02?)

In addition to the doors being move one closer to the edge are they also being raised one plate? I know someone mentioned it earlier. I'm currently building crew quarters with a cafeteria on two 32x32s. I hope to build a hanger as well. Jonathan (...) (22 years ago, 25-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: Brikwars TL6 Initial Details (6/15/02?)

(...) What I'm planning shouldn't affect anything. It will simply make the area in my rooms two square dots smaller. (...) Excellent!... I won't use them. (...) I won't do that, otherwise I will be stuck in a loop until my phone rings or someone (...) (22 years ago, 24-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: Brikwars TL6 Initial Details (6/15/02?)

(...) Oh, Jorge Jorge Jorge. Always trying to buck the rules, aren't you? Just kidding - actually, that's fine. The design should be more of a guideline than anything else. If anybody has to make modifications to make something work, then go for it (...) (22 years ago, 24-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: Brikwars TL6 Initial Details (6/15/02?)

(...) Snip... I'm working on mine but I have a little request, can we get rid of the technic connection closest to the center of the wall? If I want to put a sliding door on, the two technic pegs will be on the way to open the door. This door would (...) (22 years ago, 24-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: Brikwars TL6 Initial Details (6/15/02?)

(...) Soooooo, how's everybody's stuff going? I still haven't updated the images on brickshelf, because I'm just that naughty, but the doors should all be moved one stud further out (i.e., away from the center of each edge). Oh, and like Eric says: (...) (22 years ago, 24-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: Is there a Lego company store in Enfield, CT?

(...) Mmmmmmmm! I wonder if they're hiring janitors or something? (...) I bet that if such a trip were coordinated, a van full of GardenSLUGs could meet y'all there! (Maybe we could all be hired for a day?) Chris (22 years ago, 18-May-02, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.loc.us.ct, lugnet.org.us.nelug, lugnet.org.us.gardenslug)

Re: Re: Is there a Lego company store in Enfield, CT?

Sorry, There isn't a store there. I went in March. I can't remember if there were tours or not, but I'm pretty sure they stopped doing them. The only things to see down there, are the sculptures in the front lawn and a day care that has large lego (...)   Re: Brikwars TL6 Initial Details (6/15/02?)

(...) My turn to be persnickity... I didn't see any rule that a module had to be grey... What if I want to be fashionable and decorate mine in Teal and aqua-marine? I think that would be swell... All kidding aside I don't think we should feel locked (...) (22 years ago, 18-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: Brikwars TL6 Initial Details (6/15/02?)

(...) I've been thinking about things like this in my thinking about dungeon modules for a brick RPG. You can elevate things by just using stacks of 2x2 bricks (or if you want to go more and 2 or 3 bricks high, build a little more complex support (...)   Re: Brikwars TL6 Initial Details (6/15/02?)

(...) Quite true.. (...) Ooooooo, I like! If only I had the extra bricks available to, I'd make some staircase modules raising up a level, along with large tiled landings to put other modules onto at that same raised level. Then of course the raised (...) (22 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Random shots from the peanut gallery... (...) This is a neat idea. (...) all (...) Note that a baseplate plus one plate isn't quite the same height as two plates, but you could cover a green or blue baseplate with grey plates and work ok. It would (...)   Re: Is there a Lego company store in Enfield, CT?

(...) Sadly, it seems no :( I've heard from about 4 different sources who have said there's no stores or 'real' publically accessible areas (their lobby maybe) in Enfield. And no, they don't do public tours :( [though it has been a long standing (...) (22 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.loc.us.ct, lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: Brikwars TL6 Initial Details (6/15/02?)

(...) OOps! You're right, I actually intended to do that. Having them spaced on stud closer to the edges also ensures that there will be even spacing between doors in two modules that are side-by-side. I'll revamp the pictures this evening and (...)   Re: Brikwars TL6 Initial Details (6/15/02?)

(...) I hate to be persnickity, but if we moved each door 1 stud closer to the outside corner it's nearest to, we could have multiples of 16x16 baseplates-- which may lend itself to further coolness seeing as it'd allow for 16x16, 16x32, and 48x48 (...)   Re: Brikwars TL6 Initial Details (6/15/02?)

(...) Your killing me... this looks so cool! I wish I could make this game. I might have to work up a module if I have time anyway. Eric Kingsley (22 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)

Re: Brikwars TL6 Initial Details (6/15/02?)

(...) The first draft of the standardized doors are available: (URL) technic holes will be used to attach the sections together. Simply put, each module needs to have at least two doors, located in any of the 8 spots designated. It looks like 7 (...) (22 years ago, 17-May-02, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)
