Ack! I don't see "reserving the room at Bison County" as a "contribution to
the org". It's just a phone call. No big deal.
I mostly just meant that if they did get so uptight about the room that it
became utterly impossible/impractical to meet there, it would be a loss. For
example, if they started *insisting* that we have 30 people, or that we order a
pre-arranged menu, or wanted a fee of $75 or something.

Oh, yeah. I can't imagine they don't. It is 15-20 people sitting around,
ordering dinner and drinks (and more drinks than a typical dinner patron, at
that) who otherwise wouldn't be there that night.

Yeah, if I was ever confronted by some kind of roadblock to our continued usage
of Bison County I'd probably go down in person and try to work something out
with the manager/owner/whomever. Our needs are few, their rewards are great.

Yeah, but if can manage not to act like one, we can lower her guard. ;D

Heh! Hmm. Would I drink a Guinness offered to me by Jim Jones... I'd have to
think about that one.

Indeed.

| (...) You're absolutely right about all of this, of course. Bison County is an ideal meeting place for a lot of reasons. In fact, just yesterday when I was telling my wife that they have a private room that we can reserve without (explicitly) paying (...) (24 years ago, 18-Dec-00, to lugnet.org.us.nelug)
