  Christmas event

For the last couple years, we've managed to get together for some kind of event, between Christmas and New Years. Last year, we had our first round of Tic-Tac-Toe. The year before was our first GBC. This year, I'd like to play around with an (...) (18 years ago, 15-Nov-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: NXT "remotes"

(...) Thanks (and thanks to Bryan who replied off-lugnet) I had forgotten the bit about those motors being pre-prototypes. When I find time, I'll take a look at trying to figure out what to do with the more powerful ones. At the very least if I can (...) (18 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: NXT "remotes"

(...) I have mine set so if the reading is between -10 to +10, it stops. So, if the reading is <-10, go backwards, else if the reading is >+10 go forwards, else stop. (...) This is a bit tricky. And, a bit of trickery. The program is very simple. (...) (18 years ago, 31-Jul-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  NXT "remotes"

Things have been way too quiet on here for a long time now... Since I know I won't be getting much LEGO playing time at home anytime soon, and since I was headed out of town this past weekend, I took a page from Dave K's book and took my LEGO with (...)   Re: Indy 5.00 rule clarification

(...) Definitly, though you can't see it by that picture, that is why I used this piece (URL) the wing. I think I'll add a couple big "coffee can" exhaust tips coming out of the bumper tonight. I think that is supposed to make them go faster too! (...) (18 years ago, 1-May-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: Indy 5.00 rule clarification

(...) The Internet? (...) I'll keep that in mind. That really isn't my intention, but you know, rubbing is racing! (...) Good, I'm guessing I'll be making use of this. How much "changing" before it becomes a whole new robot? "But I used the same (...) (18 years ago, 1-May-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: Indy 5.00 rule clarification

(...) I think the internet was to keep people from using a wedge-shapped bumper to push people out of the way. So, while bump-drafting is allowed, if you use the angled part of your bumper to push someone out of the way, that could easily be (...) (18 years ago, 1-May-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Re: Indy 5.00 rule clarification

(...) No wonder! Just from the back, that looks very nice. Wish I was closer (time is tight this year). (...) I suspect the studs tend to make for a slightly less aerodynamic surface than desired. I'm beginning to think about Indy 5.00 + Sumo for a (...) (18 years ago, 1-May-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Indy 5.00 rule clarification

I think this has been permitted in the past, but I can't remember if we decided if it shouldn't be encouraged or not... The Indy 5.00 rules state that "The bumpers must be perpendicular to the robot's direction of motion, not 'angled'." Does this (...) (18 years ago, 1-May-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

Re: This place is dead - where are all the cool posts?

(...) Do I have to mention how much I am loving bylaw B??? Whooohooo for the two X chromosomes! Awesome management skills there, I am re-organising my list of "Most Favourite Lugs" as we speak and Laflrc just took a huge leap in the list. Janey "Red (...)   Re: Tic Tac Toe Results

(...) So to clarify, if the games were a draw and no touches were needed, the winner was the one with the lowest time. But if even one touch was needed, a slower robot that was better at block placement would win (because it didn't need a "touch"), (...) (18 years ago, 20-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)

  Tic Tac Toe Results

So, we've been playing with Tic Tac Toe for a couple months. Of course, at the same time, several of us have been working on other stuff, as well. We finally had our Tic Tac Toe event yesterday. It was a very cooperative event. Every robot played (...) (18 years ago, 20-Mar-06, to lugnet.org.us.laflrc)
