Sunday, we held "Pole Day" qualifying for the '06 Indy 5.00. To see the
complete rules, visit <http://www.laflrc.org> Here's the lineup, and fastest
single lap times (in seconds):
1) 4.16 Ben Hur III
2) 4.55 Cockroach II
3) 6.20 RC 1
4) 6.58 Troy
5) 6.66 Chad
6) 7.11 John
7) 7.13 Absent (Greg)
8) 9.83 Kerby
9) 11.34 One Hour
10) DNQ Tom
Tom's robot was working when he showed up for qualifying, but he decided to "fix
it", and then was not able to complete a qualifying lap. (we laugh, because
we've all done that...)
It's worth noting that half the field is made up of robots with some sort of
steering, and that the middle five robots all ran times within 1 second of each
other.
The second round of qualifying will take place on May 21st. All robots that
qualify in round two will line up after first round qualifiers, and once the
field is full(1), the slower robots will be "bumped" from the field.
On Race day, second round qualifying will begin at 1:00, with the race starting
around 3:00. Note the extended schedule. The meeting is scheduled from 12:00
to 5:00, and will be open to the public from around 2:00 to 4:00.
Bring your GBC modules, so we can throw together a GBC.
See you there
Steve
(1) there is no field size limit.
