  Re: Points derailing cars

(...) Actually I wasn't going to make the whole gap wider, just opening wider and more gradual. That does bring a thought to mind. I could make some sort of insert that fit over the tab and guided the wheels in a little better. Maybe made out of (...) (22 years ago, 14-Oct-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Re: Points derailing cars

I've tried your suggestions in the past... :-( DON'T do it... Scroll down... (...) You'll certainly ruin 1 or more integrated wires. Fixing these is a hell of a job. Better solution: lower te radius of the wheels 0,3-0,5 mm. With an electr. drilling (...) (22 years ago, 14-Oct-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Re: IndyLUG October Meeting Minutes

(...) I nominate Eric Smith. ;-) Speaking of positions, if we are going to get a little more organized, we need to decide some things like that. Currently we have the following unofficial positions: Secretary (Brian Alano) Webmaster (Jeremy (...) (22 years ago, 14-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Re: IndyLUG October Meeting Minutes

(...) Would a PayPal account work? Obviously, we're going to have to have a treasurer. (22 years ago, 14-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Points derailing cars

Hello all. At our meeting last night, we noticed that our cars were derailing in some of the switchs. I searched the train group and couldn't find any reference to this. We spent some time examining things and came to a couple of conclusions: 1. (...) (22 years ago, 14-Oct-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Re: Um, goodbye?

(...) Bummer. You would move away just when things got started! ;-) Good luck in North Carolina! Regards, Steve (22 years ago, 14-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  IndyLUG October Meeting Minutes

Hello, all. I'll try and do my best Brian Alano impersonation and give something approximating the minutes. Steve Hassenplug brought his Lafayette Mindstorms group down to check out our train layout. I think all the kids enjoyed it. It wrapped up (...) (22 years ago, 14-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  October meeting and website.

Hi all, i don't know if i will be able to make it to the meeting tomorrow. i have to take two tests on campus and probably will not have time to make it. i will be working on the website next week though, and i have taken into account all of the (...)   Re: October Meeting reminder

(...) Unfortunately, I'll be late (concert at 2:30, probably can't get out of town until 4:30--5). Fortunately, that won't interfere with the meal, since I'm bringing dessert. :-) (...) We're aiming for February to have something, right? Is now a (...) (22 years ago, 11-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Um, goodbye?

Hi guys. I have not met any of you, except for Steve, so I don't know how appropriate my message is. I need to remove my name from the Indylug roster becuase I no longer live in Indiana. I moved to North Carolina last week. Best of luck to all of (...) (22 years ago, 9-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  October Meeting reminder

IndyLUG's next meeting is Sunday, October 13th at 4:00pm. All adult fans of Lego are welcome. Reminders: The menu is potluck. Bring a side dish if you can. Bring a main dish dessert, beverage, or table service to share otherwise. Jeramy requested (...) (22 years ago, 2-Oct-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Re: it's up!!

The web site looks great. I really enjoy the layout of it. The only problem i had was that it was extremely slow loading for the first time. But then worked o.k. I just hope people will wait for the pages to load and not leave. But other than that (...) (22 years ago, 28-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Re: it's up!!

Everything looks great. I can't believe you put that ugly truck on the home page 8-} I had a couple navigation problems. After clicking on a link from the index2 page then clicking the browser back button, I was usually sent back to the initial page (...) (22 years ago, 25-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Re: Rendering server

A single 233MHz PII would only be a stop-gap, at best. Now a cluster of 233PIIs... I think we should farm out the rendering to a custom PC screensaver, installed on the high-bandwidth-connected PCs of thousands of AFOLs. :) (22 years ago, 25-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  it's up!!

well, i've uploaded the site and i need feedback (especially how fast it loads on modems). i still need to add like 50 pictures and finish the member section, but i figured i'd go ahead and show what i got. jeramy ___...___ Send and receive Hotmail (...)   Re: Rendering server

I think it could be possible if we were running our own server. Though I don't believe POVray supports command line, it's little buddy l3p does. I don't think a 233MHz would be able to handle the eventual bandwidth this would create. If any of you (...) (22 years ago, 25-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Rendering server

Every now and then I wish there were a web server where I could paste in an LDraw (.dat or .ldr) file (or a URL to such a file) and get a 3D rendering. Occasionally I search the web to see if anyone has done such a thing. As of yesterday, I still (...) (22 years ago, 24-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Level Crossing

I won't be able to attend the October meeting. Here's the gate for the level crossing. Feedback welcome. (URL) (22 years ago, 23-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  Re: auto-drive

Oh, that's sooo easy! Too easy! Should be able to get pretty small with a micromotor and 9v battery box. Even smaller if you juryrig a few button batteries into it. While I had planned on more functionality than this scheme allows (such as choosing (...) (22 years ago, 20-Sep-02, to lugnet.org.us.indylug)

  auto-drive

Here's an interesting idea for Brian. It's a way to make a truck that can stay on the road. This is the only picture I see: (URL) put metal under the road plates (like washers) and just use a couple magnets to steer the truck. I'm not sure if two (...)
